$360 at optus, which brings it to $342 at Officeworks with price match (PIckup or delivered).

I purchased mine 2 weeks ago and I like it. I had the Xiaomi 9T before, which has issues. Oppo are fair, but their software layout isn't the best. Had to swap my region to UK to be allow to call record.

    • +4

What issues does a 9T have? I've seen countless people move from Oppo to Xiaomi but very few go the other way.

      • +4

My main issues were the WIFI (WPA-Enterprise protocol) completely stopped functioning during the last update. Xiaomi advised they are not support enterprise network and told me to buy another of their handsets. Next issues was the camera isn't that good. Oppo Reno is better, but my Xiaomi 8 lite was amazing (regret selling it). The software was also glitchy at times. I did the hole reset to factory etc and phone just wasn't that great. It's ashame because I was a Xiaomi Fanboy. May try them in the future as I returned under paypal so cost me nothing. It's seems to be a heavily complained about phone online and I'm sad it didn't meet my needs as I still like the way it held in my hand and the weight and quality feel.

i have my Mi 9t, got it for $395 from OW, and love it!
      What was wrong with yours?

JB will have a sale on the Mi 9T from Thursday 4th for $399 from what I hear.

      • +4

Yeah I moved from Oppo to a K20 Pro (9T Pro) because ColorOS was moving to white primary background colour when everyone was moving to dark mode even tho they use OLED (made absolutely no sense why Oppo was doing this).

Best decision I made and K20 Pro absolutely cured my must-have-new-phone syndrome. Was swapping phone every 4 months, now 6 months and absolutely no desire to move away.

Can't stand any phone with a notch nowadays, it's 2020 for crying out loud.

        • ColorOS is about to release an update. I am hoping the version 7 will be better than the current 6. It's still a good phone for the price. I had the plain 9T, so I hope the Pro is better

        • +2

Yeah notch is one thing I cant stand.
And I prefer snapdragon over mediatek anyday.
Wasn't so sure on ColorOS either.

      • As from above my experience (owned for 175 days) "My main issues were the WIFI (WPA-Enterprise protocol) completely stopped functioning during the last update. • What's your source on that upcoming bargain?
That is a 33% price drop.

        • The link pasted in the comment takes you to the ozbargain page that explains the details (inlcuding optus link) and it's not upcoming, its been around a few weeks

@Froot Loops: I must have replied to the wrong comment.
My question was for @arjay88 who mentioned the Mi 9T on sale this Thursday.

      • JB sale again? That would be awesome, didn't pull the trigger last time and regretted it

    • Curious to know, how does the Xiaomi 9T camera compare to the Oppo Reno Z, or Google/Samsung Phones?

  • +1

Nice device, no wireless charging puts me off.

  • +2

I paid $448 for mine a little while ago and I still think it's an excellent phone - I love actually.
For $370 it's definitely a bargain for the specs

  • +1

    Great mid range phone.

I've got one and the camera does not focus properly. This happens on video as well where the camera will go out of focus midway through the video.

    • I've been playing with the camera and video this weekend (only new to it) and I haven't experienced this yet. Is there a known issue?

    • +2

Make sure the lens is clean and if it's still happening that's a warranty-able fault.

  • The phone really struggles with basic apps like the Optus sport app but is miles better than a Samsung note 9 running the kayo app.

    Mediatek MT6779

No phone with a Mediatek processor over $150 is a bargain (even then I would only consider a Mediatek phone as a back-up phone). I wouldn't consider any Chinese phone without a QCOM SD. Chinese manufacturers should keep these junks in the third world countries where they belong.

  • Mediatek processor with above $300 ? That's ripoff.

Got this phone from Officeworks for $342 for someone and wouldn't recommend it

The camera really is quite dreadful. Photos are washed out, low detail, and pretty much useless for macro shots as it blurs parts that shouldn't be blurred. My Google Pixel 1 has significantly more detail, and even the Xiaomi Mi A1 which I also compared seems to have an edge by it's more vivid/accurate colours (amount of detail is about the same).

It has a good screen and battery, but brightness outside isn't that great - it's bright enough to use though.

  • @hippo2s do you mind me asking where you got your K20pro from and how much did you pay for it? Also are K20 pro and MI 9t the same phone? Thx! :-)

    • +1

K20 pro is also known as Xiaomi Mi 9T pro not Mi 9T.

So many clicks and upvotes, but only 3 sold?

    What's the camera like ?
