Bendix Ultra Premium Disc Brake Pads $85.87 for 2 Sets, General CT and Euro+ Brake Pads $59.99 Ea @ Supercheap Auto

210

Bendix Ultra Premium Disc Brake Pads are good pads for general driving, I have them for my Toyotas and they work well, not noisy from the get go. The 2 set for $85.87 multibuy is only for store stocks so your mileage will vary depending on your vehicle. Ultra Premium pads can be found for most common cars. This is a regular deal from Supercheap Auto.

The SPO Bendix General CTs and Euro+ brake for $59.99 seems to include free delivery to your address. Be sure to use their Spare Part finder to find the pads that works for your car. Best to double check Bendix website to make sure you get the right pads for your car model.

I just bought one of the Euro+ pads for my car and will report back on quality. The Euro+ brake pads are about 1/3 price compared to OEM, and 1/2 price compared to Brembos for my car. The price seems good compared to Sparebox and others, even compared to Sparebox's regular 20% discounts on their website or eBay.

  • Good pads as they are now a more modern type. For years Bendix were nothing special. The CTs are a good mix for all round use, nicely resist troubles when cold better than any high-performance pads yet still stop well- especially when just heading up the shops and the pads are wet, cold or both.

But I don't rate them over Textar, Bosch or other half decent pads- so won't touch them unless they're cheaper. Often these are the same money if common one, and sells in quantity. Many are made in Asia these days, but there are plenty of others in the aftermarket. The branded ones are far better tested, definitely that means less installation problems/squeals when done to the instructions. Brand+German beats OEM+Asian made all day long, but not worth much of a premium.

    • Any comments over the difference between Bosch Blue Line and QuietCast Premium Ceramic?

      • Never compared them, sorry. Blue Line are fine on Euros but are a standard pad. Not sure about their new ceramics yet.

Best advice anyone can give is to buy a pad that is well known and used by people that drive the same cars as yours, the way you do in the same conditions you do, and use just those. One brand of OEM pad can be great on one chassis, and terrible on another- even within one brand of car the differences can be night and day

From the Get go, im not too sure how your ears are bleeding from reading text, my bad, that was worded horribly, I guess I don't have a very flavourful vocabulary, basically your comment isn't helpful in anyway period.
But it seems you're the most winningest person here that the "most useless comment" award should go to :)

      • be sure to make those flavours pop chef

  • Tried Bendix for both my Mazda 3 and MX5, both spew out dust so much I will be replacing them prematurely. Have to clean the wheels every week.

    • Which Bendix pads did you buy?

      • I believe they are the General range. I have the ultimate range on my MX5, and they are pure trash IMO. Offering worse braking performance than my previous Hawks, louder, more dust also.

        • The aren't designed or tested on your car, just made to size. That's mostly why the OE and some branded quality pads work so much better.

    • That means they are working. Probably a gentle mix for less wear on your discs, and so more dust.

More than 10% of air pollution is due to brake pad abrasive material being released into the air. Just thought I'd randomly mention that

      • It just means that they create more dust, and require changing more often. Many other brands have general pads for average cars that do not spit out that much dust, also there are many enviro models.

Performance pads will spit out more dust than normal pads.

Both bendix applications I have spit out more dust than I have ever had (compared even to performance pads), and also squeal.

        • It's just darker material being used, like graphite.

'enviro' 'eco' 'Environmental' is just psychological words to sell brake pads. Asbestos is environmental too. Graphite, Silica, copper, ceramics…

@Oofy Doofy: I know, I was just letting you know as you seem to think that every brakepad should pour out brake dust to let you know they are working.

            • @onlinepred: They do pour out dust, you just want invisible dust.

              • @Oofy Doofy: Invisible dust? Some pad compounds/mixtured spew out more dust than others FYI. I mean I drive to the shops with bendix and I need to wash my wheels, with hawk I wouldn't even get dust on my finger when rubbing the wheel after a drive to the shops. Bendix are cheap as chips compared to others. I found spending a little more gets you much better performance all around, including less brake dust.

Each to their own, clearly reduced dust is just a marketing term, and everyone who complains about is must be wrong. Just do a google: "Bendix excessive break dust".

                • @onlinepred: There are no free lunches with these things. Metallic based pads are superior, usually create more dust, and wear discs out a little faster. Other blends, like those with copper and ceramics or organic materials, sacrifice themselves for increased disc life, reduced visible dust, with less stopping power, but it's enough for normal A to B commuting.

As someone who works in the trade
can say 100% without any hesitation Bendix are Rubbish
They are poorly made overpriced rubbish
    Brake Dust, Squealing etc
we got so sick of people bringing their cars back complaining we had no choice but to stop using them.

We use DBA or RDA now (RDA are sold to Trade only)

    • Can you please also comment on ADB?

      • +1

We have not used them much
the few times we have we have not had any complaints

    • +1

Yep - as an experienced DYI'er, I have been very disappointed with Bendix pads and don't use them. Have tried these as well as General CT and have chucked both after a short mileage. That said, a Toyota driver may be less critical of braking performance and may be happy with these. Meh.
Ther are much better options for much the same money.
These are a super critical safety item guys - don't cheap out on pads.

    • How does Bosch compare to DBA?

  • Can they fit them?

    • +1

Lol, I'd hope unqualified retail staff aren't offering to fit critical parts such as brakes.
