These pies are the best frozen pies i've had, also this is the first time i've seen them 50% off in over a year as they are usually max 20-30% off
Which one's do you like the most?
Honestly they're all really good. I prefer the beef ones to the chicken and leek but those are still good. I'd say my favourite flavours are the slow cooked beef with caramelized onion and Cabernet sauvignon and the slow Cooked King Island Beef & Camembert.
I microwave them for 4 mins or so from frozen and then pop them in the air fryer or oven on grill for 2-3 mins to crisp it up.
I reckon they are better than most bakeries around me
@Hasbulla: Here here, i laugh at the muppets that buy those $6 pies at the servo. $6 for utter slop, now way this is OzB!
@Hasbulla: I agree, in fact I wanted to edit my comment to say so but it was too late. I’ve had many pies from bakeries that cost me twice as much and were not even half as good.
@Elision: I reckon that most bakeries must use dirty el cheapo ones and market them as 'local', 'handmade', '100% beef'…
Not sure of the power of your Microwave but I go 1 min on high in Microwave or they start getting hot and soggy.
Then into the airfryer at 180 or so for 6-7 minutes. Come out with a crisper pastry.
SLow cooked beef with Cab sav my favourite followed by the chunky beef one.
Not sure about the one with Camembert
They were 50% off earlier this year at IGA
But no stock at any of the IGA stores. Went to Coles tonight, most varieties available. No toilet paper hahaha
Yes I agree they are awesome. But i definitely bought them in half price sale less than a year ago though at Coles.
Have to agree the beef/onion/sav slow cook was incredible. Not a fan of chicken and leek but was also great. Worth stocking up for as a cheapish snack.
Maybe i'm biased but I feel they deserve their own post as they go to half price maybe once per year or less. They're also reaaallly good.
