Telstra 24 Month Postpaid 80GB $65/Month, $700 off with > $999 Handset (Port-in and New Numbers, in-Store Only) @ The Good Guys

230

Similar to the JB Hi Fi/TGG deal - $65/month over 24 months plan but this time with $700 off when you purchase a phone that's $999 or more (as opposed to $500).

Saw this just posted on TGG website just today.

    It's 80GB, not 60GB.

And only $700 off when you purchase a phone that's $999 or more. You'll get less credit off if the phone you are purchasing is $998 and less.

    • Interesting that their T&C's don't appear to reference the $700 off (but 300/500 in store credit)

    better the 12 month deal

    • Yep, totally.

    • is this the 12 month $400 gift card?

      • S20+ for $849, it's not $700 off, but you aren't locked in to $65/mo for two years, so savings to be had there I assume.

So for the $65/month over 12 months plan, is it basically:
          - $849.00 - S20+ handset deal
          - $390.00 - Early termination fee
= $1239.00 to walk away with the handset?

How is it better than the 12 month deal? you only get about an extra 200$ worth of savings at the expense of being locked in for an additional year.

      • better the 12 month deal (not than)

        • haha right… looks like I can't understand new age english nowadays

          • @Kingfield: with the negs maybe i was wrong?

            • @Da dpG: Yeah I dunno why they would neg you and not the guy who said thr original comment ..

whats the quickest way to port out before going to TGG?

    • +1

Spend four hours stuffing about on the phone, online and then finally going in store to port out to Optus prepaid from Boost…that's four hours of my life I won't get back, not to mention when I went in store, did it via the online in-store and it worked straight away! First impressions of Optus are not great. Looking to port back to Telstra ASAP (ported out two days ago) so hoping that I might be able to sneak this in.

    • vodafone can do it free and virtually instantly… just say you're going overseas and want the number held cheaply.

    • Just wondering, I tried porting in the other day for the iPhone XR plan($65/month 12-month $399), but there was a 30 day waiting period required for previously ported Telstra customers. Does the same apply here?

      • +1

I would only assume the same would apply

  • Whats the ETC?
