Moved to Forum: Original Link

Came across this while looking for AA batteries. Regular price $22.68.

Bought 5 packs. So that's 120 AA batteries for $13.60. Good deal I think.

I'm a PRIME member but no free delivery it appears.

When you buy from Amazon they always charge you when u click purchase. Just like ebay etc

  • +1

No way this is being honoured

    • What happens when the sale isn’t honoured?
Is amazon good with their refunds?

      • +2

Doesn't matter - my credit card company is.

  • -1

Wouldn't be surprised if they pull the "account has been hacked" card.

    Bought anyway :)

I have had really bad luck with Duracell AA/Asia's leaking. I have used all different brands and Duracell seems to be the worst (just my experience though)

    • +2

yeah they're called Duraleaks for a reason. they come standard with maglites and i've had a few that leaked while it was brand new in the unopened pack. it's also caused corrosion in one of my torches

    • +1

Yes, Duracell is RUBBISH. I've had so many devices damaged by leaking Duracell batteries. They will honour their guarantee though. Send them photos of the leaking batteries and the damaged device and they'll reimburse you the cost of the device.

      • I’ve got duracell batteries exp around 2016 going fine…. never had issues with them

      • is there a webpage for claiming the guarantee? I cant seem to find it on their AU website… Thanks mate

        • +1

Try here and click the "Contact Us" button in the middle of the page. They should write back and tell you what information you need to submit next.

  • As a new seller on Amazon and Ebay they don't release the funds to you immediately, it will be held for a period of time. This seller is just wasting their time if they're trying to scam

  • Thanks OP. I've ordered for everyone on my street caronapocalypse#

  • Holy moly, I'm in for the party!

      • I'll take my chance :)

Shouldn't we be mindful about the expiry dates?

  • Already been charged on my card. I guess they will have to refund me if they don't ship.

  • Could it be close to expiry date?

  • Thanks OP ordered

8.09pm order confirmation email with estimated arrival date.
    Talk about mixed messages.

  • Bought 10 packs for AA (10 * 24) and 5 packs of AAA(5 * 360) for 21.75$. lol..

Has anyone got an Order Confirmation sent from Amazon as I have not got one yet ?

    • +1

Yeah i got one. But this was sent last night.

    • Received the confirmation order this evening.

  • Thanks! Ordered 4.

  • +1

Stick one up each nostril to combat Coronavirus!

  • Got some thanks!

  • I see from the listing the item requires 24 AA batteries. Luckily these are included.

    • Luckily these are going to get cancelled

    • +1

Strange. In the listing it says box of 12 and 9V but in the description it's saying box of 24 and 1.5V. Can this seller get any thing right?.

  • This is not too bad either. You can order both and it is still only $10 delivery.

  • Date First Available 10 October 2017 - is this when they were manufactured?

    • No. When it first became available for sale by this seller on Amazon. It could have been manufactured a year before hand.

  • Ordered a few different sizes - D, AAA and AA.

If as suggested in the various threads these turn out to be fakes or for single units is there a path to receive refunds?

    • complain to amazon. if that doesn't work, file a chargeback.

  • Is this deal finished? It's not showing up as discounted price for me.

    *** UPDATE***

    Hi All,

This is my Amazon store. We had a listing error with Amazon and price is actually for 1 battery. The data we sent was correct however Amazon replaced the title with their title linked to their ASIN and their title is incorrect.

We are working with Amazon to refund all orders as there was over 7000 orders placed.

Please understand this is a nightmare situation for me, even trying to clear the 7000 emails i received in my inbox over the weekend and also the cancelation requests in addition. I plead with you not to create a cancel order request, this will be done and we are working with Amazon, you will definitely get your money back.

Im trying to be as open and transparent as possible here to keep everyone informed.

In light of all of this i will put together a special deal on these batteries for those that still want some of them. It will of course be nowhere near as good but i am looking to do it at a very small margin that would allow me to cover my costs and it will be the best available on line or offline.

I will also let everyone know that I am currently in the process of testing several different battery brands using several West mountain pro battery analysers. I will Provide test results in the coming days after i have collated the items. The main reason for this being that there was a test done on a current affair comparing Aldi, Energizer and Duracell batteries next to each other and it was done in a terrible way that is not reliable and does not test any variables. Also when my old marketing manager last posted some deals on here a couple of years ago we got royally flamed for the products and not offering the value you buyers are after. There was some misinformation posted from other websites and some batteries not compared to the correct ones. I will provide all of this information at the time so that you can make an informed decision. I will also be on hand to answer questions as i am the technically minded owner with over 17 years of experience rather than the marketing manager that had only been here for a month at the time.

All good, best of luck with the orders mate!

    • +1

Is your offer to the battery open to public or only for the one who bought your batteries?

    • Received my cancellation email from amazon this morning. All good on the error.

    • a test done on a current affair comparing Aldi, Energizer and Duracell batteries next to each other and it was done in a terrible way

      ACA stuffing something up.
      you don't say! ;)

    • +1

      Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the open and transparent communication. I've just received cancellation email. All good.

    • +1

Thanks for letting us know, I got my refund notice this morning as well. I am also very interested in the results of your testing.

    • Just got my cancellation email. Thanks for your informative post!

    • +4

Sorry to see people are going to the effort of leaving you 1 star feedback for an obvious price error. Hope you get it rectified.

    • Received the cancellation email, and today is 24 of March - Probably 10 days and I haven't received refund.

  • -5

Order cancelled and no amazon credit “shock”

    • +3

Why would they offer that. It wasn't even sold by them.

      • -3

Because as noted by store owner, it was an error made by Amazon.

  • The cancellation email i got from Amazon says that the cred card wasn't charged for the order. And yet i was charged onto my Visa Debit card instantly. That is false by Amazon.

  • Also received my cancellation from Amazon.

  • +8

Those leaving 1 star reviews absolutely pathetic. It was obviously a pricing error out of seller's control. Some people smh.

    • +1

Yep. They should have their Amazon accounts cancelled instead. Those spoiled brats.

  • OK where are all the idiots that down voted me now? It was obvious this was going to be canceled.

    • +2

They are busy leaving 1 star reviews on Amazon …

  • Still waiting on a refund

  • +1

…7000 orders? you should all be ashamed of yourselves

    • +2

A lot of them do it knowing that it's a pricing error thinking that they will get a discount voucher in return. But hey it doesn't work that way when it's sold by a third party seller which in this case it was. You'll only have a chance when it's sold by seller Amazon.com.au which is Amazon itself.

  • Still waiting on a refund.

    Hi All,

Here is a short video apology to all of the users effected and a thank you to those OzBargainers that supported me: https://vimeo.com/399035194/26619e3f44

As promised i have come up with some cracking deals. This is my apology to you. They are nowhere near as good as the Amazon deals but a challenge you to find anything that gets close (i know that this is the exact point that you Bargainers send your minions out to find them!) that isn't stolen

The Duracell Procell i have are the brand new General Purpose. They have been upgraded and I tested it to confirm that it wasn't a "marketing" upgrade.

Disclaimer: Varta High Energy and Varta Energy sold at Bunnings are not the same product! The test on whatcell only compares them in one discharge range and does not test them at a higher discharge rate. We are doing this test ourselves after we finish testing the current Procell intense and then i will post my findings.

    IMPORTANT:
    - The products are in this category and they are specific just for this promotion and are not able to be found in search: https://batteryspecialists.com.au/other-products/ozbargain.h…
    - Do not add other products outside of this category to the cart, the shipping calculator wont work and you will not have and shipping methods displayed!
    - If you want to order something else that isnt in that category you will place a seperate order or contact me directly and i will need to put it through manually for you.

These are going until next Friday only!

    Standard Post: $8.94
    Express Post: $12.65

Duracell Procell Industrial AA or AAA Box of 24 - $9.24
Energizer Industrial AA Box of 24 - $9.24
Energizer Lithium AA Pack of 8 - $19.36
Varta High Energy AA or AAA Box of 24 - $7.92

Test Data on the new Procell General Purpose outperforms all of the batteries tested (Energizer, Duracell, Varta, Fujitsu, The old Procell), i will provide this information shortly.

    • A video apology - that's gotta be a first here. Good job!
BTW the video would look better if you didn't have a bright window behind you.

    • +2

It’s very big of you to post a video apology on here (technically it wasn’t even your fault).

You don’t deserve the unwarranted negative feedback.

For the rest of you who haven’t posted a review, leave some positive reviews for him so he can build up his reputation especially during these tough times.

    • Thanks Store Rep
The Varta HIGH ENERGY Industrial AAA size - BULK BOX OF 24 $7.92 are showing "Out of stock"
Any chance of adding some more and letting me know
      Thanks

      • All Good
        Thanks

  • +3

Over 7,000 orders? Can we figure out who the top 10 buyers are?

I'm guessing you'll find most of Australia's toilet paper rolls there too

    • …was thinking similar. pretty poor form by ozbargainers when it comes to price errors here sometimes
especially with all the other shit thats going on right now.

  • +2

I ordered a couple of sets of batteries , so come on Guy's give him some orders as he's a small business and needs your support after all that has happened. Show him OzBargain people do care.
