[VIC] Ozito Power X Charge Pruning Saw Kit $79 (Was $98) @ Bunnings

80

Saw this on clearance in Bunnings Bayswater Vic. $78 for the kit (was $98) with 1.5Ah battery, around 9 on the shelf this morning. Skin only is $89. I recently bought kit at full price, so did the old ‘buy another and return it on the old receipt’ trick. Useful tool for trimming branches and firewood. Best use a bigger battery if you have other Ozito PXC gear.

  • I purchased that on special clearance for $50 at my local Bunnings in QLD.

    • Which one? When?

      • This was at underwood, last Sunday

  • I wonder if they're clearing this out nationwide given the kit no longer appears on the Bunnings website.

    • Yep good point, kit is no longer on the website, was last weekend when I made my shopping list and bought at $98! So may be clearance elsewhere.

    • They tend to bing out kits when they introduce a new item, then as that stock dwindles they clear out the last ones and just sell the skins.

I had one of these for about five seconds, unless you're cutting toothpicks it's a waste of money.

Grab yourself a cheap reciprocating saw if you're wanting to cut anything bigger.

    • Can you elaborate on what the issue was? Just gutless or..?

      • Imagine using a really blunt jigsaw cutting through a piece of hardwood timber.

By the time you've gotten through you could have used a handsaw 3 times. I would not recommend getting one of these at all. I'm just a gardener so don't take my word for it…

You can pickup cheap reciprocating saws for the same price and it will cut through much more and be able to be used for many other jobs.

        • I agree. Not good for firewood or harwood. For myself a regular recipro is stronger /more versatile.

But I bought this for my mom to to gardening, light pruning. For a weaker and less experienced power tool user this design is easier and safer to use.
She uses it with a 1.5 battery which makes it nice and lightweight tool.

This is a DIY! Light duty tool. Don't expect to cut firewood with it. Thats just dumb. It's not designed for that. It will chew through an occasional log, but at a price of time and fustration.

That said, it does take standard recipro blades, so if the kit one doesn't work for you, you can buy a brand name replacement for specific applications.

  • $40 at Nottinghill VIC but only ~5 left yesterday.

There was at least 6 left when I was in store a few hours ago.
    Includes Charger and 1.5Ah Battery
    Was $98

    • Oakleigh Bunnings has it for $50, saw it yesterday - they had around 6 left.

    • This would probably be better for those living nearby. Obviously $50 is a great price but unless you are in the area, which I am not, one might want to settle for this deal or wait for further reductions.
