      Not at this price.

      • Didn't realise there was a non ti 2080

At current exchange rates, this is just over $600 USD. Great price!

  • excellent price

  • Tempting. Dollar has tanked, we're in a recession. I don't see prices coming down for us at least another 12 months….

    • Expecting 3000 series this year, but there is always the promise of something coming up.

Nvidea's upcoming release announcement was pushed to online only, now cancelled. Could be many months before we know more about the next gen (let alone get them).

They also have the 2070S for under $800. Most of the frames for 20% less.

3000 will probably be delayed and when it does finally arrive you can bet your sweet cheeks they'll be sub 2 grand with the way our dollar is going. That's why I think these cards will be hold value. The market will be starved for decent high end gear at reasonable prices. When the 3000 series will be just under 2k, suddenly the 2080 super for half that looks reasonable…

      • The announcement was rumoured to not be gaming GPU related, more AI and ML stuff.

        • It was definitely server cards, but the architecture was unclear.

      • Nvidea's upcoming release announcement was pushed to online only, now cancelled. Could be many months before we know more about the next gen (let alone get them).

It's pretty reasonable that they cancelled things because of the current global climate. They need to have a coordinated global response after the launch, and that was obviously falling apart.

AMD had the benefit of having done their Investor Day two weeks ago, and Microsoft did similar work with journalists and influencers at that time, under embargo.

If NVIDIA's announcement was about new server products, there's no rush as the first orders would have already been done (and kept under embargo). In fact, there's already been mention of this.

I own this model, quiet and zero problems, can recommend.

    • I have a triple-fan 2080, same story. Think the cards are solid and the 3 fan cooling is a winning combo.

Here we see an RTX 2080 for 1070 money

It took me far too long to get this joke :(

    Or 2070 Super for under $800 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/173959144550

reasonable price at the moment, considering everyhitng going on, but that card has been as low as $650 before.

    • +1

Except the cheapest was 640 for that card (by FTC) or 719 by everywhere else. I would wait for the 2070S to drop if you want it.

      • Yes the cheapest was $639 by FTC with a bonus 1TB Gigabyte SSD.

Is a 2070 (not super) for $600 good?

  • I just sold my whole gaming desktop waiting for big navi .. Found out they wont launch until late this year which might extend due to corona virus..
Building a new one with this on..
SSd is also really expensive now.

    • +4

Yeah nah never do that for speculative release timing and specs.. much better to just get a good deal on older gen and be happy in the meantime :)

    • I went nvme 1tb. thought Id go for the latest storage in my 1st build. Likely won't pick the difference over normal SSD's, but sometimes games do strange things when updating, maxing out for extended periods.

  • Bought it for $1039 for their 20% off sale back in Nov, but still a great price for a great card. Been running it in a SFFPC(NCASE M1), paired with a 3700x, and it runs like a dream.

    • I was looking at the 3700X but the 3600 seemed better bang for buck. What made you get the 3700X?

      • I'm a musician, so was the better option for me for recording music, with some photo/video editing on the side. If your only purpose is to game, then the 3600 is absolutely a better choice- the difference is like 1% at most in that regards.

      • +1

for gaming 3700x will last you longer, PS5 uses a cpu similar to 3700x, talking 10 year timeframe here…

    Thanks OP. Bought one.

  • Dam ebay plus only, was about to pull the trigger. :(

    • They have a promo where you get credit for the cost of plus. May be targeted. Not sure of the full details.

  • Bugger it. Bought it. Was holding out for Ampere but that seems to be slipping further and further towards 2021 and I want to improve my VR experience now while it’s cold in my PC room.

This is $50 cheaper? Windforce version… whats the difference?

  • NVM pulled the trigger. The other model is only 3 years warranty, no RGB.

  • Help, anyone got a good deal for a 2080 Super close to $1000 or less???
