Link to see cashback amount depending on cover

You will see cashback amounts when you enter details for a quote too. Essentially it's the first month free but you need to sign up for 2 months to get cashback

not sure this is a great deal. as an example i recently signed up to a product that is $294/mth with 6 weeks free, 2&6 month waivers and a $100 giftcard. the value of the cashback for the product combination is only $250 if using this promo, so doesnt even account for the 6 weeks free.

When you switch private health cover, do you have to serve the waiting period again each time you switch?

    •

Generally no if you are switching to a comparable or lower level of cover. Claims made for yearly limits aslo carry over

I work as a health insurance broker, the easy way to answer this :

You will only serve waiting periods on upgraded benefits limits or rebates so you cannot be worse off switching like for like. All your waiting periods carry across on a transfer certificate from the old fund. ( minus any waiving on waiting periods for example the 2 & 6 months on the extras in this promotion )

Was with Bupa a few years ago. Unsure if I qualify, anyone privy to what health insurers generally define as a “new” customer in these circumstances?
