    Hey op,

Do you have any examples of a good deal from your store.
Good deal in the ozbargain frame work means we cannot find the product for cheaper any where else.

    Thanks.

Snowy's regular prices are nearly always the cheapest around. 10% discount is definitely bargain-worthy.

I'm looking at the zempire monstamat

Snowys was already the cheapest at 253, others at 269-279

Extra 10% off is a on top of that

There is a K Mart deal which is nothing but free delivery on over $45 spend, and that has nearly 300 upvotes. This is even better with the additional site wide 10% off. How is it not a deal?

    • The camping industry appears to be pretty similar to the kitchen/homewares industry. Highly inflated RRPs that nobody buys at…. and regular sales of 40%+ off.

Snowy's are an exception to this rule. They keep that low end price everyday. I'm in the market for a few things and with this deal everything is easily the cheapest available anywhere. Most are the best prices ever (excluding eBay 15% off sitewides which don't happen anymore).

Great deal. Will be even better once cashback is confirmed. That will probably push me over the edge to buy.

Will this coupon work with shopback/cash rewards?

    • promo code is now listed on shopback.

  • They've had better deals but more to the point we will probably be in lockdown like other countries soon. Doubt they'll want anyone camping and hiking.

Suppose you could invest in gear now but camping and hiking gear is a yearly cycle now too.

Something is fishy here with this deal.

I check the price of an item and it says $789. I add it to my cart and the coupon 'easteregg' is already applied. So there's no actual discount?

    • +2

It's not applied. The message just says you're eligible. I thought the same thing when I was playing around before.
Put the code in the coupon area on the right hand side where it says "Enter your gift card or promotional code" under the credit card fields.

      • Ahh, that got it! Thanks Aaron!

        • Thanks for the feedback, guys. Should we make that messaging a bit clearer? Cheers, Laine

          • @SnowysOutdoors: Maybe the copy could be tweaked slightly… but the real issue is the placement of UI elements and default behaviour.

            Ideally you could:

            1) Auto apply coupon where applicable - Utilise clearly placed message to drive home this automatically applied discount to encourage conversion in a timely manner

            or

            2) Show message regarding eligibility and allow customer to enter - but be clear about the process and placement (e.g. like this mock-up https://imgur.com/a/FjARu2H )
2a) Don't make customers click text to show the input field. Open automatically if there is eligibility
2b) You can leave as text without auto open when there isn't eligibility (to try and discourage coupon hunting during checkout process.. if you're into that kind of thing (I'm not))

            or … least preferred

            3) Add some prominence to the message and tidy up the copy a bit. Much easier than the above but not as effective.

This is all standard-ish advice based on best practices and experience and not at all tailored to your customer base. Best thing would to actually look at your Hotjar or whatever and figure it out.

The other thing worth mentioning is your site speed. Not super fun to use! Probably an influx of traffic due to the sale, but the system should really be scalable.

            Best of luck.

            • @AaronR: Thanks Aaron - all good points and well thought out.

We'll be taking those tips on board.

              Cheers. Laine

  • Thank you Rep, the 10% swayed me to finally purchase some add ons for the Oztent RV4 I have been putting off.

As mentioned above, the prices at Snowys are usually lowest or equal lowest for most items, even with the higher quality gear (along with tentworld who have similar pricing) so the extra discount do make the prices favourable.

  • Hey Snowys, any chance for a $299 deal on the Exped Duo like you have done in the past? Cheers

  • @SnowysOutdoors I'm trying to buy a tent and the coupon "easteregg" doesn't work. It just keeps saying "are you sure that's right…?"

  • An extension on this one would be much appreciated rep…
