  • Nice deal, indeed. The power of Kar-el.

    • what does this have to do with Kar-el?

      • But for it why would they have reduced the price that much and that quick?

I thought it was Kal El

    Great find!

Pricematch at OW for $407.55? Or would the 'pay cash' discount be more?

    • They have it?

      • +3
        • +2

no OW stores will have it in stock cause its 'online only' for them.

        • +2

Good observation, Tonytiger. You're quite right, and i see that the 'lowest price guaranteed' policy does not extend to their online store, thus, no OW pricematch. Sorry for misleading anyone.

Edit: I noticed that orders can be made over the phone:

I'd rather order by phone. What number do I call?
You can order with Officeworks by phone, fax, or online.
Call our Customer Service Centre 1300-OFFICE (633 423) to place your order. Mon-Fri: 8.00am-7.00pm (EDST)

And that price 'Lowest Price Guaranteed' is redeemable via phone.
The Lowest Price Guarantee can only be redeemed in store, by fax or by calling 1300 OFFICE (633 423).

Therefore, it should still be able to be matched and bettered by 5%, right?

  • +1

    Get one tomorrow?

    • i will ….pass

still use my mytab and wait to see what will be there for me around xmas

      • +2

Likewise but I'm just going to stick with the MyTab until it breaks… Sure, it doesn't have the fastest processor around but it does everything I need it to and 7" is quite portable.

I'm interested to see what the next gen of 10" tablets will be like.

  • Taipei, Partly Sunny 25°

      STOLEN review :P

I would say the Iconia Tab.

      PROS:

You get a full size USB port for example, that you can use to put in a wireless keyboard, mouse, (or both if you have a bundle, though I have not tried it yet). You don't have to pay extra $$ to get the keyboard dock in order to get the full size USB ports.

Better camera with LED flash (I have not actually compared the two before but read from reviews that Transformer's is not so good)

      Cheaper :D?

Personally I do find the Transformer a bit weird to hold. The back looks and feels nice but when holding the whole thing, not as solid-feeling compared to Iconia Tab.

Better build quality. As long as you got one that does not creak at the right side or the left back panel (it happened to me twice, respectively, to the Tabs I got from JB-HiFi before the perfect one I got from OW today), Iconia Tab feels very well built and I personally like the cool metal feel when you pick it up.

      CONS:

Transformer's screen IS slightly brighter. And better viewing angles too because of the IPS. But you usually won't look at screen from such angles anyway.

Transformer's keyboard dock gives extra battery (another 6hrs I think). But I suppose with Iconia's full USB port you should be able to find a power pack to recharge your Tab without adding weight and thickness to it.

Transformer already has Android 3.2 while Acer's just got delayed, according to Acer Malaysia.

OK that's all for now. Just my thoughts…

      • Did you read about the screen bleeding issues? apparently it was a major issue with the transformer.

    • This one has an IPS screen and ASUS is generally considered to be a better company that Acer.

  • Can ppl let me know what price they can bargain down to?

  • Great deal!
I wonder when will it drop to $300?

  • I like this over iPad, will see hoe much for cash in store

  • Good Guys Brighton have the 16GB model out on display for $399, and better still the 32GB for $548. No further reduction offered.

Worth remembering that Amex are offering $50 cashback to registered cardholders for spends over $250 here.

    • Is the 32GB with the keyboard?

      • Sure is

        • Oh cheaper than on Amazon.

  • 16G price gone back to $508.00

  • Garlic would you be able to attach the receipt? Thanks mate.
