Cost me 5 bucks to get it to Perth, Still a great deal

  • +3

Anyone tried any of these. Any good Expresso blends with milk. Cappo or Latte. Need a strong taste.

    • +4

I have tried both the blends - Roosevelt and Sunset Boulevard. I won't call them super strong coffees, I drink it as a latte. I rather liked Sunset first time around, and just ordered it again.

If you prefer a really strong coffee, maybe take a punt on the other deal, where their Blackbird Blend is described as:

… not for the faint hearted. It’s best described as a cherry ripe. It’s heavy bodied and really cuts through the milk.

I would take that to mean strong and/or dark-roasted.

When Neil posted the deal here, I was waiting for people to receive delivery and share their thoughts on the various coffees. But of course, the deal expired, replaced now with this - which is still a fantastic deal.

      • +1

        Thanks just ordered the Blackbird

I don't see grind option. Do they only ship whole beans? I need it ground not whole :*(

    • +1

I think they are only whole beans..

    • +6

They grind on request. Last order I got, I just added it to the notes.

    • +5

Please buy a hand cranked burr grinder, do it for me. :)

      Something like: https://www.amazon.com.au/Manual-Grinder-Ceramic-Stainless-S…

      • +2

Electric grinder is good for more people. But seriously they should get a grinder. Higher quality healthier better tasting coffee makes it worth it. Stop buying pre-ground.

        • +7

Better tasting, possibly. But healthier? ;)

          • +1

@bargainshooter: Absolutely healthier. Think of coffee like you would extra virgin olive oil. Extremely sensitive to oxygen, heat and light. Ground coffee makes all that worst than whole bean. The more coffee is exposed to these elements, the more rancidity it acquires. Same logic behind seeds oils are generally rancid compared to long lasting oil in whole seeds.

Hope that clarifies what I meant.

        • +2

          Healthier?

          • +4

@arcticmonkey: Hand grinder is healthier, you have to do exercise grinding the beans by hand.

Shipping was free for me and I'm in Sydney. I ordered 1kg so maybe it was because of that?

$25 for a kilo is great value. But does anyone actually buy bags of 250g blended from them at $20? That's the most expensive I've seen from anyone including the big names like industry beans etc. Seems inflated?

    • I updated post to remove the Victoria only comment :)

As for price, I usually buy Pablo and Rusty along with deals as they pop.. could be a prize error? Does seem higher than average, might be worth reaching out to them?

Market Lane has one that is $26/250g

Strange, I got charged $5 delivery and I'm in Sydney as well

bought from these guys a few weeks ago per this post

tbh, wasn't impressed by the lack of communication (no shipping info, no confirmation, no update on the delay, etc).

Was about to ask for a chargeback via CC, then all of sudden the beans turned up about 2½ weeks after payment was made.

Coffee seemed to be a bit stale as well (some other buyers have said the same thing in that thread).

    ..caveat emptor

  • Could anyone who bought this coffee from previous bushfire deal share some feedback? Trying to decide if I should get this one or the Bean Hunter deal

    • +1

Got them in the fire appeal deal and they were great, would definitely recommend if you live close by you will haven no problems with the deliver either. I ordered some beans from the Fat Poppy Roasters deal last week and although they were posted on Thursday the tracking says they are still with Auspost in Sydney. If you're interstate or out of Melbourne you might want to look at a local roaster in this situation.

    • +1

I got the beans below in the bushfire appeal. They were delicious. I just reordered them and a different one to try.

Colombia- Spirit of Peace - Popayán

      • how do you use them? regular cap? espresso?

        • +1

          Picolo latte or espresso.

  • +5

I was the one that created the original bushfire deal. I have the same complaints as others which were stated in that thread. No communication, slow on delivery (given I literally live locally to the roaster) but it did come eventually and they ended up sending me double my order (not sure if by accident or an apology for being so slow). I got both blends and the sunset blend was the better of the two imo. Although to be honest I didn't really love either, I think my roast dates might have been a bit old (Plus I am on a real Ethiopian Single Origin trip lately so anything outside of that doesn't seem right.

    • where's a good place to buy a good Ethiopian single origin bean?

      • I just purchased a bag from two cracks coffee, $45/kg. Roasting next Tuesday for the next batch.

      • Where are you located?

  • thanks OP, just ordered, always keen to check out new local roasters

  • Thanks got 500g of both blends. See how they go.

  • Stanley cafe mount Waverley and Nelson cafe boxhill both use this bean. Highly recommend. Great for pour over and magics

  • $5 flat shipping fee for me? How did you get free shipping?

    • same here. 2x500g to sydney.

Why does their website have a stupid red dot?

    • +1

      Yes, it's really annoying.

    • +3

that was a red dot ??
… i've had eye surgery recently and thought i was seeing a "floatie"

    • -5

      That's racist.

  • +8

Webiste is kinda poorly designed. I found it hard to navigate and select coffee so gave up.

    • +2

Made me recall another coffee site I gave up on once for the same reason.

Just visited this site and found this was indeed the place I gave up on before.

Pass - that's how important this stuff is, web designers.

At least not when Aldi give quite a decent shot for $12/kg, one you don't think twice about sinkshotting if you don't nail the extraction.

  • +1

how much more toilet paper will I use if I purchase this coffee?

  • Also adding $5 shipping now

  • Code still works

  • Anyone got their order yet? I haven't and now just noticed the previous deals OP comment saying that the coffee isn't that good and it takes ages to come through. What a waste of money! I'll be out of coffee tomorrow so if it doesn't arrive by tomorrow morning I'll need to go an buy another bag anyway.

This had the quickest delivery I have ever experienced for coffee - it was roasted on Friday, and delivered to my house on Saturday. I live only a few suburbs from the roaster, but wow!

  • Received my 1kg Sunset BLVD and have tried my first cup - pretty weak and bland with a slightly unpleasant taste, couldn't even finish the cup - very disappointing…

  • I am still waiting…

  • Still waiting too..

  • mine finally came yesterday - southwest sydney.

    • Yes mine too. Roast date was the 24/3 so already 10 days old

  • +1

Haven't received mine and ordered on 24 March. I just messaged Inglewood to cancel my order.

    • Havent got mine yet either, I am in Perth, I know that things are taking longer to ship in the current climate, but just about to run out of the beans I have and its been 2 weeks now, I havent had any contact from them since they said they were roasting my beans, So I don't know if its shipped or if I need to get more coffee before what I have runs out. Some kind of contact would have been nice.

  • Where is my coffee beans?

  • Perth here too.
Mine were picked up by AusPost on the 27th, ETA last Friday but still nothing, so it seems there are decent transport delays across the country.

    • I don't even receive any info regarding shipping

      • I use the Auspost app and it popped up automagically.

      • email them to get the tracking number, my order is also stuck on the 27th

    • I am also located in Perth. Purchased on 26 March and have heard nothing since. I just emailed Inglewood Coffee Roasters to get an update.

  • I lodged an enquiry with Aus post. Was delivered the next day.

Interestingly the flavour descriptor has changed, and it removed the aspect I picked it for, though I'm yet to taste it.

    • Good coffee, and a bonus tin. Happy days!

    • Still nothing for me, AusPost tracking shows Delay status
