"In addition to content updates, Risk of Rain 2 will be free to download and play on Xbox One and Xbox One X for Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members as a part of Microsoft's Free Play Days on March 26, 12:01AM PT all the way until March 29, 11:59PM. Following Free Play Days, Risk of Rain 2 will be 40% off on the Microsoft store from March 31 to April 6. "

Other Platforms:
"Also to celebrate Risk of Rain 2’s one year anniversary on Steam, the game will be on sale for 20% off from March 31 to April 6, and playable for free on Steam Free Weekends starting on April 2 through April 6. Nintendo Switch users can get Risk of Rain 2 for 50% off on the Nintendo Switch eShop until April 2."

Great game. Doesn't hurt to try during the free weekend.

    Because the Switch versions base price is significantly higher than the PC version

      It is normally the same price on the switch and xbox digitally.

    Because Switch games have a much higher price point. Looked on EB Games and it's selling for $79.9 for a physical copy. PC gamers can buy on steam for 28.95.

      As a general rule of thumb, EB Games' prices are insane and you should never judge a games RRP based on their prices. It is 39.95 on the Nintendo eshop pre sale, so it will be 19.95 when the sale goes live. The game is also 39.95 on the xbox store, but only 20% off there. EDIT: It will actually be 40% off on Xbox, this posts title is confusing but it will still be the cheapest on Switch.

      Abviously steam is usually cheaper, I got the game for like $14 by splitting the launch BOGOF deal with a friend. But in this case it will be $4 cheaper on switch.

      Just seems weird this post is about the xbox deal if the switch deal is way better.

      EBGames was selling it for $28 a month or two ago, and it comes with Risk of Rain 1 as well.

  Such a surprisingly fun game! Even without a proper ending yet, I put in around 15 hours in my first week playing on Switch. Hoping for Crossplay in the future

  Early supporter, but I didn't really like this game. And I play a lot of games..

  For me, the game feels pointless as there's no real objective, and the progressive unlocks feel shallow.

    Have you ever played any Roguelikes before? Or even the prequel? The game obviously has no ending right now, but neither do any online games really.

      Yeah I've played plenty of roguelikes and usually don't enjoy them unless they bring something new or different. Rogue legacy was excellent and I played until I could beat every boss +remix. FTL was fun and a classic, different ships changed the game enough to challenge me. Into the breach made me grimace between every choice and I loved it.

      To me risk of rain 2 feels very grindy and doesn't reward mechanical skill as much as random luck from drops and slot machines. I actually preferred the first one, but not by much.
