How do you price match sitting at home?

    • +1

      Call them up

    • +3

Call 1300 OFFICE (633 423) and get them to price match over the phone.

    • You do realise you are still allowed out right?

      • +23

You do realise that having permission to do something doesn't make it a good idea right?

        • +3

Srsly? I work still, and on days off stay home, I would go out if I needed to, I am sensible and don't hang out at supermarkets like a lot of crazies, I practice good hygiene and observe social distancing when I do go out. But I am definitely avoiding Bondi beach atm.

          • @nepalesesquirrel: Unfortunately, it’s more about how others behave than you yourself that makes you susceptible once you’re interacting with some of the grubs out there who are still coughing/sneezing their guts out in public.

To buy a watch! Dude read the news.

I've just come home from work after preparing medical facilities for the potential surge in patients.

I've been making a huge effort, and when I read your comment I wonder why I bother. .

..oh yeh that's right, because some of us give a stuff about society.

( Vent over, had a tough day at the hospital)

        • Yeah fair enough, good on you. I think my comment is just misunderstood. Look, I spend 4 days basically in lockdown with my 2 small children watching the news and keeping up to date with the latest CV news. I go back into work on a Monday and it's like business as usual, and it makes me mad and quite frustrated. My workplace is making small changes but mostly to try and keep the business going, thinking of the dollar, and I don't believe most are taking it seriously.
Btw my partner is a nurse.

          • +5

@nepalesesquirrel: Didn't mean to sound grumpy, sorry.

We have been told to expect surge in 3-6 weeks

let it be known we are preparing for a scenario that seems like a wave of death is about to wash over.

As a community we are exhausted from the drought, fires, smoke haze and then floods..

            And now we have this.

At work for example, we are extending the morgue capacity, retrofitting the ICU, struggling to access some parts. Staff are anxious and tired…….
So stay at home if you can, avoid social contact and stay well

            • @Ok computer: That's gotta be tough. My thoughts are with you guys, I couldn't do that type of work. As I said before my partner is a nurse and has spent 1 shift in the CV ward so far It is a little scary for us as a family, for me, for her, for my young kids, and their grandparents and great grandparents. All the best.

How do you use an active watch sitting at home?

      • +5

Well you can use it to measure the stress given the current situation.

  • Great price but waiting for the 42mm to go on sale.

  • +1

Great price, for last gen smart watch. Please not if you use it for fitness tracking the GPS and step counter is not accurate at all as compared to Huawei Watch GT 2,FitBit Versa or even Apple watch my personal experience.

  • +4

Good for the price but the GWA2 is better. Battery, HRM, speaker, etc

    • Does the 2nd gen have any additional features or just improvements to those features?

      • Both, improvements and additional features. i.e. having a speaker allows you to take calls on the GWA2.

My wife still has the GWA and doesnt mind its limitations, but I wouldnt buy a GWA over a GWA2 at this point, especially given the price the GWA2 has been recently.

      • The HRM is much better too.
I bought the Galaxy watch active 2 from education store last time when they were selling at $420 and gives free galaxy buds. Sold the buds @ $140, claimed TRS and got $30+ back, in the end only paying $250. Worth every cent.

    • +1

Agree with you on that noise36, managed to get the 44mm GWA2 for $249.50 delivered on this deal a week or two ago - this old deal has expired now but worth keeping in mind as in light of current economic woes the deal could come up again sooner or later

  • is it cellular one?

    • No, but I wish the cellular one was on special because I really want one of those.

  • +1

Waiting for the Galaxy Watch 46MM to go sub $300 again. Devo I missed out the last time. Any leads?

  • +1

Can you transfer music to the watch and play offline? (not through Spotify)

  • +2

Ok well I cant post info here appaently and im new so im not going to post a whole new listing. Just know that the same watch is available at same price on Amazon Australia from official Samsung vender

TL:DR Amazon Aust selling watch for $199 too

    • That's because Amazon pricematch "real" stores. Having said that I don't see black at that price, just rose gold and silver?

      • +1

HAHA so sorry if i had of seen this i would have told you black is there (i saw the same thing) but its an option on the Rose Gold page. For some reason the default page was rose gold and black was secondary.. OH WELL TOO LATE NOW LOL

  • Gen 1 now has touch sensitive bazel, which makes this a better deal.

  • As there are so many Samsung Galaxy Watches out there, which one is the latest flagship watch at the moment?

    • 46mm Galaxy Watch LTE can be called the flagship as of now.

    • +1

Galaxy Watch Active 2 (sportier design, newer) or Galaxy Watch (more classic/traditional design, bigger battery, physical dial).

Galaxy Watch is arguably still the "flagship", but Galaxy Active 2 is the most recent and up to date. Personally, I dont think either is better - just preference. Don't think you can go much wrong either way.

(FWIW, I bought GWA2, mainly just because I prefer the look.)

    Advanced Auto Tracking

Is it the world's first accurate smartwatch? Going on previous history of this scam device category that's unlikely.

    Sleep/Stress Management

One, you cannot track sleep without reading the brains electrical frequency, hooray the scam is alive, and two, these things cause stress.

Pointlessly (because inaccurate) neurotically monitoring activities causes stress.

Bought rose gold for wifey from JB hi fi gift card ,.. thanks BA. cheers

  • Can this watch take voice calls with Bluetooth connection to phone

    • no speaker so no, need a GWA2

    • My galaxy gear watch can. Not sure about active models though.

    • You'd need a bluetooth headset. the watch can show you who is calling, and tap to answer.

  • They have price matched for all colours now

Can anyone comment on performance, notification management and connectivity? How are these in comparison to android wear?

I've owned the LG G Watch R, Huwei Watch 2 Classic and Ticwatch. I've found the general performance of android wear to be extremely frustrating. Eg, starting an application takes way too long and have run into general connectivity issues where I've needed to reset either of the devices.

My favourite thing about android wear is native notification management though. Full notification sync means, once i've dismissed it or actioned it on my watch it disappears from the phone.

    • Tizen does this too, at least for Samsung devices I think.

    • +1

Switched from HW2 to GW, i could say performance are way way way better on GW, and yes the notifications will disappeared on the phone as well, though some quick actions aren’t available like WearOS (like quick reply on mail).

  • Anyone have an opinion on this against the Huawei GT ?

  • Awesome, got the OW Price beat! Cheers!

Note that this is the previous generation of the Galaxy Watch Active.

Went for the Fitbit Versa 2 a couple of days ago but wondering if I made the wrong decision. Any thoughts on which is better folks? I could probably cancel my previous order.

    • I have a Fitbit Ionic, and purchased the Galaxy Watch Active 1 (this one). After two weeks I've gone back to the Fitbit and sold the GWA1. The Fitbit has a much better battery life (5+ days vs 1.5 days Galaxy), sleep tracking, exercise tracking, and the heart rate monitor is more accurate.

If you want a smart watch with some fitness aspect, go the Samsung.
If you want a fitness tracker with some smartwatch aspects, go the Fitbit.
