Does anyone have problem logging in?

    • Nope. Used it today (for bp points though )

      • On BP Reward Site or with BPme app?

        • App

I can't login to the website either. Tried both Chrome and Edge browsers.

Is this the new norm to start earning status credits while on the ground?

    • Seems like a fairly shortsighted play by Qantas to undermine the value of SC, unless Qantas are planning on some policy shift in the mid-term.

      • They already undermined the value of Status Credits, with the Double Status credit promotion.

I've had departments booking a year worth of travel during that period.

I joined yesterday, got 100 bonus Qantas points but no status credits

    • Just found this in the T&Cs:
“ Bonus Status Credits could take up to six weeks to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.”

    • I got an email saying I got 100 points too but they haven't hit my Qantas account yet… Have they hit yours?

    • I got the 100 bonus points and then the 10 status credits came through a few days later.

Fuel prices near me for U98: Costco- 104.7 BP- 133.9.
I’ll take the almost 40c a litre off over the QFF points

    • Costco stations vs. BP stations locally ?

      • south east.. near cheltenham yes

    • +1

      *almost 30c

    • +1

That’s how all these promos work, your buying the points with the higher price.
Same goes for energy companies giving points.

    • Costco fuel is imported rubbish

  • BP is normally higher than the petrol stations in the vicinity. I believe that is due to their Velocity and now QFF partnership.

    • +2

Really depends on your location. BPs near me are normally cheaper than the caltex/shell. Prices near work are pretty consistent through so depends what is convenient.

PS Its only 2points/litre on BP ultimate, 1point per litre on other fuel varieties.

BP currently cheapest in my area for 95 Unleaded 131.9c

With Qantas extending status by one year, most people are good .. but no one is sure when they can fly :(

  • If only you can get discounted BP gift cards.

  • Pumped my usual BP ultimate 98 today and presented my digital membership prior to payment. Membership failed to scan and was told to claim this manually online. Let's see what happens.

  • Has anyone actually done the math as to what this is worth?
Last time I fact checked BP and QFF merger, it was going to take about a 20 grand spend to get a one way short haul domestic flight.
I wouldn't bother getting too excited about this….

If you were the type of person to spend your QFF points on a visa/mastercard gift card, then you would need to collect a little over 26,000 points for a $100 gift card.

If you fill your car with premium unleaded, then that's a $100 gift card for every 13,000 litres of fuel. So let's say you go through a 60L tank of fuel every week. Say BP ultimate unleaded is $1.40/L, you're spending $84 per week. So it would take 154 weeks or almost 3 years to earn a $100 gift card.

I'm sure they will have bonus point promotions for in-store spend so that will help boost your points. Plus, a gift card is not the most efficient use of points but it's an easy one to use for calculations.

That's about what I was thinking too, maybe a $200 flight at best for the average family spend for 3 years.
With savvy bonus picking it could reduce, but petrol is one of those things you buy when you need it, would you drive an extra 5-10 kays to find a BP?

If you went 5 kays out of your road to get to a BP every week, thats 260 Kays a year, @8L per 100 average fuel consumption that's 20.8L @ 1.40 = $30 per year.
        = 3 years X 30 = $90

So if you have to go out of your way to get to a BP thinking hey I get extra bonus blah blah points, It's probably not worth it.

The new BP / QFF is about 1/3 as good as the old velocity scheme, which was just barely ok from my previous recollection of calculation.

I almost want to neg this "deal"!

Don't get sucked in people, we Ozbargainers want more!

  • 2 points per litre of BP ultimate unleaded. Every other fuel is just 1 point per litre.

Will scanning the card within the BPMe app still get you Qantas Points?

  • +3

Not very good for earning points. Pretty good for keeping points from expiring.

  • BP is the cheapest petrol station near me.

Yesterday, I paid $1.19 per litre for E10 at BP Fyshwick in Canberra.

I do not believe that you should buy something for the QFF points, but if the points are available, you should take them.

  • Received the 10 bonus status credits last week.

  • I received my QFF points within 48 hours of buying petrol.

The console operator read the bar code on my ancient QFF card.

I received 200 bonus Qff points and will receive another 200 bonus Qff points if I buy BP petrol by 22 April 2020.

  • How long is it taking people to receive the bonus status credits?
