Bit harsh on the no returns. What if you get the wrong size?

    • +1

It's $50. You wouldn't even get this price during a typical summer season.

  • Bought myself the jacket, tights and trail jersey - bargain!

  • Thanks OP grabbed a jacket.

  • I just bought the jacket. Thanks for posting the deal goosh026.

  • Thanks, Grabbed a Jacket

  • Grabbed a jacket. And I am not even a bike person. I guess they are reasonably water resistant.. ? And I hope large is large enough.

  • The jackets seem very good value at $50. Not sure why this hasn't got more votes?? The Macpac Halo jackets that often get voted up on here are around $100 and seem to be a similar down fill. Anyway I'm gonna try one of these.

Because not all down is the same.
I've never heard of Aussie Grit before, have you?

Think it may be related to Mark Webber as that is his Twitter account name.

        • yep.. It is Mark Webber's brand.

          From the website.

          OUR ORIGINS
Aussie Grit is a term often first applied to Mark Webber AO, a nine-time Formula One Grand Prix winner and FIA World Endurance Champion. Chasing his Formula One dream across the globe, Mark’s determination to keep mentally and physically fit saw him shunning the hotel gym for running and cycling in the great outdoors. Training in nature in all kinds of weather, Mark found he was spending too much time focusing on what he was wearing. Small imperfections were getting in the way. Through motor racing, Mark learned tight margins can be the difference between success and failure. You have to trust every aspect of your gear, to give you the headspace to perform at your best and enjoy the moment. Instinctively, he knew where his next challenge lay: a range of sporting apparel specifically designed for running and cycling.

Nope, but at $50 it’s worth a shot and if it’s only half a good as the Macpac I break even. I’d be pissed if I paid $399 for one.

  • Anyone know what the sizing is like?

    • +1

Can't speak for the down jackets, but for the apparel that I already have:

      2 in 1 bid - L
      Flint Bike Shell - XL
      Flint Bike Jersey - XL

      178cm
      95kg
wear between a size 34/36 pant depending on brand and cut.

While it probably wont work for this deal, but their service is excellent. First time I ordered from Aussie Grit (June 2019) I went with the XL 2 in 1 bib, but was just a little big, and with the plan to lose some weight swapped for a L. L is great fit.

I went with the XL for the down jacket.

      • Oh, I went with large for the down jacket. I’m 183 cm and 88 kg. Now 34 pant. Hmmm

      • Package just arrived!

The down jacket is amazing, and for $50 its was a steal! Glad I went with the extra large with the down jacket, its perfect.

        What are people's thoughts?

        • Just received mine. The large just fits me. Wearing only a t shirt underneath. So I guess I better not get any fatter. Would like to have been able to try the XL but such is life. For $50 it is still a great buy. And I will only wear a single layer underneath anyway. I am not a vest wearer and I don’t do multiple layers. Sleeve length is perfect. Quality is good.

        • Great jacket with a snug, streamlined look. Probably the best looking puffer jacket I've ever worn. The build and workmanship is very good. It's got a good volume to warmth ratio. I would also probably go a size up if not sure about size. Even if its slightly bigger, your not going to feel like the michelin man. Highly recommended even at the current price of $139. At $50, its one of the best deals I've ever found on Ozbargain.

What kind of people are cycling in down jackets?

    • +1

People who cycle very slowly in very cold conditions?

      • I guess so…..

  • thanks grab one for me and one for my wife :)

  • Jackets all gone :(

Great deal, but friendly reminder, stores don't get to choose whether they do returns or not, and there are fines for advertising otherwise. It's a small company so they'll likely not be fined unless they refuse a return and someone complains.

    • Stores indeed get to choose whether or not they'll accept 'change of mind' returns.
The only returns required by law, are basically 'broken' or 'not fit for purpose'
One could argue the wrong size is 'not fit for purpose', but I'm not sure if that would stand up in court if the store provided a size-guide.

  • There are still some Large men down jackets available. I would not wait if you were on the fence about it.

    Update:
    Sold out of down jackets

    • I tried many times to buy a xl down jacket for me and small down jacket for my wife but got out of stock message as I as checked out each time. Now the prices are up at $139 each.

      • Not sure what’s going on with the change it price. Wore my jacket all day in Melbourne today and definitely happy with the purchase.

Even at the new price it is a good deal.
