      this one worked for me…thanks.

      • Same. Thanks!

    • Dumb question sorry - how do I apply the voucher code in Uber Eats (im accessing via my desktop computeR)

      • You need to do it via the app on phones for some reason the website one doesn't allow input codes

        • +2

The desktop website certainly does let you apply voucher codes. There is a "Add a promo" link just below the final green "Place Order" button.

          • @deadpoet: Ah right. I thought I could apply the voucher without having to go through the whole order placement process.

            • @dinglejerry: Nah, that would be too easy. They want to make us sweat for it ;)

          • @deadpoet: Yep, the desktop has add promo. None of the codes worked on desktop though. I downloaded the app and got 75% off first two orders, up to $15 off. So I made an order and got $15 off. Also they had the $10 promo to add in the app automatically. But I didn't use it, as I used the $15 off instead. I would have preferred to order from my desktop, but it seems the mobile app gets the offers.

    Sorry, we're not there yet
But we're always expanding. Try a new delivery address for a taste of Uber Eats.

    :( One day

Do you live in the outback?

      • Nowra, small town near Wollongong in NSW. 30,000+ population.

    • +1

I'm the same, which is pretty pathetic. Might have to start a meal forwarding app.

  • $10 off worked for me :)

  • Finally got one.

I never get any promos on my account despite me ordering heaps from it. Is there something I need to turn on in settings?

    • +11

Haha you don't get dicounts, because you order heaps. Why give a discount to someone willing to pay full price.

    • Honestly I think you answered your own question.

I'm in the same boat as you, it seems these discount codes are never targetted at repeat customers, because uber knows they already have our business, they're designed to attract new customers in.

Maybe making a second account for a partner or housemate would help?

Didn't work for me and I've made one order ever.

Start using DoorDash and Menulog and stop using Uber Eats and you might get some love.

DoorDash has free delivery at the moment without any targeted promo code rubbish.

      • Might just be for my area, but I tried DoorDash for the first time last week ordering from a local Nando's that normally deliver my food to me in 15 mins via UberEats.

Took 1 hour 5 mins for my food to arrive through DoorDash, and in that process they assigned a new driver for my order 3 different times. Swore I wouldn't use them anytime soon again, so back to UberEats for now.

Hopefully DoorDash can improve, as the competition is needed.

        • DoorDash have been very smooth for me. Maybe you just had some bad luck.

Menulog (when their own drivers deliver) has caused me the most grief.

How about you get your ass in a vehicle and just go get your order ? Whinger

  • Can someone confirm if pickup option only works on the Uber eats app and not the website?

    • +2

Well its ridiculous from Uber Eats as usual. Though it works on both they don't show us a 'pickup' filter on the website to make us go through the hassle or just deliver. Only at checkout you are able to choose pickup from an option hiding in delivery details

I'm not eligible to support small business

    • +2

Piss poor effort from Uber in my view with this targeted rubbish.

  • +8

What a bullshit! Support local businesses with taking 35% commission from them ?

    • +7

You can do it the old fashioned way , and get in your car and pick it up , and keep your local restaurant in business , they need it badly now.

      • +2

        Couldn't agree more!

      • Except when you a) can't drive, or b) don't want to drive. But try to pick it up in person if you can!

  • Got the 2 free deliveries in email but didnt get the $10 off one (it also doesn't work when I try apply)

  • +2

Once again, didn't get any discounts :(

  • +12

Ordering from Uber is not supporting local businesses. Thant's for sure.

  • How is getting $10 off going to help local business?

  • +8

Uber takes a 30-40% cut from each order, while forcing numerous restrictions on restaurants, including the same pricing whether you buy direct from them or through Uber. The claim that this is "supporting local businesses" is blatantly deceptive.

  • +1

Two years ago I tried one of these codes only to be told by the app that my area was not then serviced but would be soon. It's still telling me the same thing.

  • +2

How is a targeted offer going to support local business?

  • Didn’t work

  • -3

This is some of the most disgraceful marketing I have ever witnessed. It really does beg the question, why does Uber Eats even exist when I can look up restaurants on Google Maps, ring them and go and pick up the food or have one of their delivery drivers bring it to me for a small fee? I really hope this pandemic changes people's attitudes on a grand scale (as it already has done to me!)

  • +3

Uber Eats is not supporting small business, it is gouging small business. Disgraceful that they are taking advantage of higher demand like this. If they were truly goodwill, reduce the commission and give it back to the small business.

  • +1

It's rubbish like half the stuff it's not eligible for their delivery codes "only participated restaurants only" very limited selections
