Smoke color only but still a good deal. Used ones on ebay sold for $150.

I am currently using one, the battery last over a day and can be full recharged less than an hour. I charge them before go to bed and still have 20% to 30% next night.

It have NFC built in so can be used for contactless payment.

  • been looking for a smart watch and eyeing the garmin vivo active 4. But I dont think Garmin has NFC. This wear OS is a big win.

    • have used quite a few smartwatches and this is the one I liked most so far. Reasonable battery, quick charge and nfc.

I have a gen 5 and this is my first proper smartwatch. But as a guy who likes to try latest gadgets I feel the battery life is not great and WearOS doesn't seem to get the same attention apple pays to its watchOs. WearOS is good but still not a refined product. I don't like Samsungs custom Os stuff hence this was my only option.

Having said that at $159 it is a steal.

      Garmin has nfc.

    • Garmin has GarminPay so yes they do have NFC

Sold or selling for $150?, my experience with fossil watches are they look good but functionally not so good. Also batteries generally wear out pretty quickly. And when others last 2 days or longer, 1 day or just over doesn't cut it.

    • +2

I was looking at reviews, battery life seems like a big complaint and makes it a no deal for me. I'd rather have less functionality and longer battery life.

really depends. I loved my Xiaomi Pace( batter last 2 weeks) and Suunto Ambit3 Peak( battery last 30 days) but wanted a watch have nfc and can play music for daily usage.

    • I have seen a couple gen4 explorist sold for $150 on ebay recently. I am happy as long as it last the fully day. Quick charge in less than hours is more than sufficient to me. Could you please advise which smart watch have 2 days of battery with NFC as I may take a look at them? The only one I know is Ticwatch Pro but then their dual layer screens resutled the LED a little bit hard to see under the sun.

      • My 44mm Galaxy watch active2 lasts 3-4 days. I turn it off while I sleep. Has Spotify local and remote

    • Gen 5 user here and no problem with battery as I can get 1.5 days out of it. Charge time is under 1hr so it's good to go again

Look at the pics, everyone says back falling off

    • It's a common issue, even on gen 5.

    • My Mrs has a gen3 and the back fell off.

I have the gen 4 and have since the release date. No issues and fossil will replace with new if any faults for two years.

      • +1

Same, have the gen 4 Explorist and have never had a problem with mine, does everything I needed and lasted the full day to charge overnight. Partner had a gen 4 Venture that wouldn't charge properly anymore, contacted Fossil and they promptly offered to swap it for a Gen 5. Can't fault customer service.

  • And it's gone!

I am using watch last 15 months and I am feeling from first day it is laggy, poor battery. Only good thing is looking similar to a mechanical watch.

  • just bought one

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this the one with the 45hz display that always looks choppy?

    • wow..that's better deal if you are ebay plus member and combine with 5% Ebay gc.

    • Thanks, Gururek. I was able get one here.

    • thanks mate

I've had the Gen 4 Fossil before and returned it. Would not recommend it. Very unreliable NFC, incredibly laggy, notifications will randomly not come to the watch.

I've heard the Gen 5 is miles better, but WearOS is still at least 2-3 years behind Apple Watch OS.

    • Love my Gen 5, no issue with NFC (touch wood) as I use it to tap and go for payments and in place of Opal card - love it! Oh and it doesn't lag either

  • +1

I've got this exact watch. It's fine. Sure the battery life is terrible, but then what WearOS watch isn't? It's usable and actually looks like a real watch. At this price it's a bargain, I paid $300+ and have got good use out of it.

  • Out of stock everywhere :(

  • Managed to pick one up a week and a half ago at my local Fossil. They said it was a pricing error but where honouring it. The Iconic had some last night but can’t seem to find them now

  • Damn :(
Would be awesome if they're still in stock somewhere!

  • good price

this or galaxy watch active 2?

    • This one is pretty old watch. Even Galaxy Watch Active 1 wins over this.

      Fossil Gen 4 - Snapdragon 2100 / 512mb RAM
      Galaxy Watch Active 1 - Exynos 9110 / 768mb RAM
      alaxy Watch Active 2 - Exynos 9110 / 1.5gb RAM

Just wondering why? When you can buy a silicon band cheaply after market unless you prefer black of course.

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/173911547935

      • Ohhhh I wasn't aware about that. Thanks mate.
But how do you Change them … Can we do that on our own?

      • How easy to replace and how durable if you had it before?

        • +1

The bands that are on it have quick release pins, if the new band also has them it takes 30sec to change.

  • Back in stock, only the silicone version..
