    What about kayo subscribers?? :-P

    • zilch

    • They better offer something to Kayo subscribers soon or else there will be a lot of cancellations and many people will not return. Nobody paying for repeats of sport when they can cancel without penalty in these days of high unemployment.

  • +1

    That got my hopes up.

Then I see it's for people who had sport in all likelihood.

    Dang.

  • Haven't received email but it's unlocked so :).

The slow death of Foxtel is like opium to my veins.

    • optus in your veins…..

    • +1

Would be sad if Murdoch got hit by corona….

  • +3

Awesome - so I'm currently paying $39 for platinum HD.

    • Same. I think I hold off cancelling for a little longer

    • Damn.. Is this deal still available?

  • Just checked, all locked. Looks like it is for sports subscribers only.

  • I haven't received the email but just checked on the box and I now have the movie channels available.

I do have the Sports subscription.

  • +3

Can confirm Rambo on my screen..

    • He will be on at least 3 or 4 more times by the end of the working week.

Rambo, Die Hard, Rocky and Lethal Weapon.

      Rinse…….and repeat.

I've had Foxtel since 1996 and never watched sports once in that time.

    • +10

      Congrats

    • not a sportsball fan hey

      • +4

He obviously didn’t see that ludicrous display last night

        • +2

That’s the thing with Gold Coast, always trying to walk it in.

  • Confirmed for me too (Sports Subscriber).
Also got the entrainment pack last week too, so now have everything unlocked.

  • I pay for Foxtel for a relative. How do they go about accessing Movies? Are they just channels?

    • +1

Yep or on demand. 10 movie channels :)

      • thanks mate!

  • Yep same here, Platinum for $39 until June 30. Also, handy is the free multiroom which adds chromecast to Foxtel Go.

  • Currently on ent/sport/Hd - now have all channels for $39.. happy camper

  • +2

So the money that Foxtel save by not paying the AFL and NRL just go towards this?

  • -1

For a further bargain, call the hotline and threaten cancellation and they'll give you 50% off for a year. Set an annual reminder and repeat.

    • Apparently their call centres are understaffed at the moment due COVID-19. You can try but you'll likely be on hold for a very long time.

      • time is about the only thing most people have right now

    • I've had $39 sport HD for a couple of years now. The first renewal for 12 months was easy - I just had to call and ask for it to be renewed, got told no, asked to be put through to disconnections who were more than happy.
This year I had way more trouble and after heaps of back and forth they couldn't do better than 3 months extension. I expect this to be a little easier now but keep that in mind.

      • Exactly the same experience here. I'll add that I tried to call on Friday to 'cancel' again and was on hold for 4 hours before giving up.

      • Weird, mine just continued to bill me @ $39 after the original year.

  • I got the email, but they are still locked

    • Reboot box. That worked for me last week

      • I did a soft reset did not work, might pull the power completely. Nope still locked.

        • Hi ,last time it took a day for the free channels to come up. It worked on the app straight away though

          • +1

@fozzie: Think I found the problem, I have 3 boxes and only 1 of them the movies are working.

  • Hopefully I get it for free also. I rang last night to add it because of boredom.

    • i got a email from Telstra today confirming about the free movies, hopefully they don't charge me on my bills.

  • +1

What are existing platinum subscribers supposed to do at the moment? Call up and move down to ent./sport/hd?

    • +2

      Just enjoy your opulence.

  • I definitely have the sports package on my plan. I've just verified this by checking my Foxtel Go app, all sports channels available. The movie channels still have the lock symbol next to them. Any fixes for this? Am I required to contact them to request?

    • I just checked my Foxtel Go and all the movies are under the Home tab. No lock symbols. Enjoy!

  • Movies for free if paying for Sports lol .
Am I the only smart one that unsubscribed from Sports ?
    Seriously :)

  • +1

Y'all can thank me for bringing this up to foxtel a few weeks ago, they actually listened. https://twitter.com/cyber_cosmic/status/1242263252760838144?…

    • Thank you. Can you also bring up to Foxtel to offer the chance to cancel subscriptions on line since they don’t answer the calls?

  • Sweeeetuh!

  • A pretty expensive movie sub if you aren't watching the sports offering. I know we aren't but will give it another month.

Hopefully they will be better equipped in dealing with customer service by then…you hope..probably not.

  • -1

Here's a better deal: cancel Foxtel forever. Don't support the old (profanity).

  • +1

I cancelled Sports last week. I think that is a better deal.

    • +1

How much are you paying now? I just realised that my discount is over. I used to pay $39, but now paying $68. Thinking of cancelling it all.

      • +1

Mine is through Telstra. I think I am paying $39 for HD less 10% bundle discount.

  • I now have the movie channels. I am a sports package subscriber.

  • Legend, thanks for the tipoff!

    Here's the full details:

Lol why is anything to do with Foxtel on OzB. Media service for confused old people exclusively since Netflix / Kayo etc arrived in Australia

    • We old farts likey foot-ay

      • How much is Fox Sports per year vs Kayo though? Or Telstra AFL

        • I think Kayo is 29 but I might be wrong

  • Nice. I was about to ring and try to renegotiate.
I’ve only just renewed with sports for the start of the F1.

  • Now that all the channels are open has anyone tried to cancel Sport and Entertainment Plus off their plan to see if the channels remain unlocked?

  • +1

Is it just me or have they removed a heap of movies that looked previously available?
