i have missed getting toilet papers in supermarkets and now missing online deals :-(

  • +4

Facial tissues and paper towels are back in stock

  • Thanks OP, already had Toilet paper, was running low on paper towels, managed to get one pack, should be right now.

  • +3

Bought the paper towels and tissues. Didn't get the TP as we bought a 24 pack from the local IGA yesterday.

  • +1

Ugh, missed the TP - spewing.

Thanks for emailing me Amazon…. Not!

    • Yeah I was relying on wishlist notifications too. Useless.

      • They never work

  • All sold out now, got the paper towel just in time!

    • cant add it to cart for some reason when i tried.

  • Got 2 x packs of 20 Quilton TP yesterday from a Coles servo, we havn't been able to get any in any supermarket for over a month, Nth coast NSW.

    • How much was it there?

      • They got 1 pallet in, someone put it on social media so went fast, my wife just happened to get petrol when they were putting them on the shelf. $10.

Before someone asks no they didn't let her get 2 i went back and got one :)

  • oh nooooo sold out

  • Thanks OK - grabbed some paper towels.

  • I snoozed and I lost… damn!

Is TP still an issue? I went to Woolworths (Melbourne) on Sunday afternoon, saw a few people walking around with TP, went to the aisle and shelves were almost full, and no one was attacking the TP packs… Just stop with the "bought one of each just in case" stupid and irrational behaviour that everything will be back to normal…

    • +1

I think the TP supply is slowly getting back to normal although it is a bit hit an miss depending on your local store deliveries and demand in the area. Our local Woolies only receives 1 or 2 pallets of TP a day and they tend to sell within the first 10 minutes of opening… whereas the Coles in the shopping centre a metres down the road receives more so their stock usually lasts 3-4 hours before it sells out for the day.

    • Adelaide no tp in weeks

    • Come over to WA, we should change from the State of Excitement to the State of Excrement for the amount of toilet paper people here are hoarding.

The Amazon alerts are worthless. Don't even bother subscribing.

    • Yeah they let you know AFTER everything's been cleaned out

  • I don't get why toilet paper supplies are such an issue!

If the suppliers are saying they've got bucketloads, and Colesworth saying they have delivery limitations… why does Amazon have an issue

In fact, why can't the suppliers just retail direct to customer, surely someone like Kleenex/Quilton aren't in an exclusive agreement with Colesworth, since Amazon are also selling them?

    • Also, don't forget that they are producing TP 24x7 now, may be the shortage is real and not created by panic buyers? May be the packaging is purchased from China and it hasn't been coming in last few weeks or months which has created this shortage.

      • Yeah potentially, although they seemed to react quite quickly with updated packaging for '2x longer rolls' that seem to be available everywhere…

    • +1

yeah, not sure why amazon have stock issues. This would be a perfect time for amazon to be selling prime memberships just based on toilet paper deliveries alone

    • There is plenty of supply for ordinary demand. There isn't enough for hoarding and panic buying.

  • I was in Costco today n yesterday they had toilet paper sorbet 36 pack $14 and today that had Kleenex 48 pack $19 loads of paper towels and facial tissues

    • Which costco?

I went to auburn last week and they had a huge sign saying sold out around 12pm.

The staff told me come at opening to get any

    • +2

      …they had toilet paper sorbet…

Not a flavour I've tried - did you taste it?

      • +1

Just don't get it with chocolate sprinkles.

        • The caramel swirl version should probably be avoided, too.

    • I've been curious if Costco is any less hectic these days.

      • Costco back to normal I was there at 12 fully stocked Ringwood

  • Flippin’ unhappy about this! I had alerts set on Amazon for the Quilton TP and none of them came through. What’s the point?
Looks like it’s pooping in the shower for a while 🤷

The Port Adelaide Foodland/IGA has Sorbent 3ply 12 (8+4) roll TP for $7.14. Amazon is taking advantage of these tough times, and the fact we all fall for their rorting.

    • This 3 ply was double length, so it's not that excessively priced

Plus considering many have prime, i would definitely pay a bit more for a pack that's delivered and I don't have to deal with the toilet paper from the shops and any shortages.

      • Funny thing is, I placed an order from this deal very quickly (just before it got OzBargained) and all this time I was thinking I bought a 12 pack toilet paper, whereas I actually bought paper towel. If you didn't reply to my comment I would be shocked when the order is delivered. Lol

  • wtf already OOS!

    • +4

Have you just come out of a four month coma?

  • 50 a bog roll is the benchmark I'll pay. $1 a roll and I suspect someone is profiting here.

  • Really should start to see a drop in demand now that so many are employed. This is until the Government cheque’s start rolling in and everyone can start hoarding again.

  • Consider doing what we were expected to do on a recent trip to Egypt, Jourdan & Israel! Even in the upmarket hotels you were expected to use the provided hose (cold water). No paper provided! Certainly confronting & not my thing!!!

  • Just got my delivery of toilet paper fastest delivery ive ever had thanks

    • Wow that's amazing… lol!

  • Just picked up a 36 pack of quilton 3-ply from Costco for $14.

  • My toilet paper also arrived today - in a stupid big box with stacks of plastic air bubble things. Maybe the kids can turn it into a fort… ;-)
