$85 for a 3-Course Meal for 2 at Award-Winning Etch, Reg. $170

The Deal
Nestled in the Sydney CBD underneath the InterContinental hotel, the award-winning Etch is offering three courses for two for just $85. Choose two entrees, two mains and two desserts from a selected menu, including tea or coffee with petits fours to finish. This meal would normally cost $170.

Etch is the follow-up to Justin and Georgia North’s hugely successful, award-winning Bécasse restaurant, alongside head chef James Metcalfe. The restaurant has held its own, receiving rave reviews with a menu that draws inspiration from the Mediterranean.

Etch has been described by the Australian Gourmet Traveller as having “finesse and oomph in equal measures” with food worthy enough to make the restaurant “a destination in itself”.

-Caramelised pork belly, crispy prawn, pickled Granny Smith and cider vinaigrette
-Pea risotto with smoked Swiss brown butter

  • Do you get a refund if you can't book at a suitable time before it expires, since it expires in only a couple of months ????

From what i've been reading in the press in recent days, restaurants only put aside a few tables for these deals so it's really hard to book a time that is convenient for you…

    • Hi jv, our restaurant deals are subject to availability and we strongly recommend that you book as early as possible to secure your date. This deal is available lunch and dinner Monday to Friday for just under 3 months so there should be enough days there to ensure you dine at a suitable time.

      • +3

        So i'm guessing that's a no then.

        • Yeah I'm pretty sure they won't because it'll be too easy to say "oh they had no bookings" if you forgot about using your coupon. I hope this place doesn't treat you like second rate customers because of the coupon cause its a pretty good deal IMO

  • Assuming bookings using this deal commence next Monday, that gives you 61 days to use the voucher. Currently 294 bought, meaning ~5 bookings per valid day, but still subject to availability (eg: Friday nights likely to be tough).

Seems reasonable, but as jv says, depends on how many tables Etch sets aside for these voucher deals. I'm willing to give it a shot.

    • Would not say this is bad considering the quality. but (a big one on that) by the time (in 7 days) the deal finish, i guess at least 500 people (min) and 800 (max) will buy the deal. that gives you around 10 table to 15 table a day roughly speaking with most of the booking on the Dinner.

      • Lol, man I didn't even realise the deal was avail for so long! Just assumed it was one day only…

Guess I'd better lock my booking away tonight! And whoever is buying on day 7 could get boned with lunch time availability only…

  • So I bought this voucher and was pleasantly surprised =) Voucher was instantly delivered and I made the booking with Etch in the evening… even got a Friday night!

    • Hi RandomNinja. Glad you had a positive experience purchasing your voucher and booking with the restaurant. We hope you enjoy your meal and experience at Etch.

  • Thanks OP
Managed to make a booking on friday night as well! Can't wait

  • So did I! Got a friday as well…We should all meet up and have an ozbargain table LOL

  • Well. just a caution notice. it is 750 sold still 4 days left. last time i went to Etch it only have around 12 table with max of 30 - 40 people inside. it is small for a one hatter restaurant. The food is executed nicely, But, compare with other one hatter and the normal price it served, the food does not come with any exotic ingredients (read expensive) such as truffle or wagyu or other..

I would say the food portion size is very small. the main is the size of entree (beef around 100 gr and no carbs), but the whole meal will last around an hour or so, order drinks and it will fill you up. With 85 for 2 is a very good value (usually spend around $100 for one hatter 3 course with one glass of wine) but again, big eater need to order some sides (meal does not come with carbs). Overall, Etch is good but not minds blowing. for $85 it is good value but prepare to spend extra on sides or eat McDonalds before :)
