        https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/haier-7kg-top-load-washer-hwt…

$499 for Haier 7kg vs $599 for LG 7.5kg. Bought the Haier with 20% off goodguys ebay at $449 list price. If you can wait, it can be had for around $360.

Can't complain abt the machine so far, good selection of wash cycles and faster than the F&P top loader that only lasted 1 months before requiring repair, then died after 3 years.

Excellent brand. I've had a washer and fridge with no hiccups.
5 year warranty upon registration is a generous amount.

    • ACL pretty much protects you for 5 years with any reasonable washer. But being upfront is really good of them

    • How long have you owned your products?

    • I wouldn't call them an excellent brand.
They're a budget cheaper brand that has had some controversy regarding faulty appliances

      • Page not found on clicking the link, can you please share the link ?

        Thanks

      • So did samsung, apple, car manufacturers, etc.

    • I've had the washer/dryer unit for a few years now. Not as well known a brand but no faults to date, no fires and quick wash does a pretty good job.

Steer clear of Beko, their products are not only known for causing a fire, but also actually killing people by carbon monoxide poisoning.

    • Can be said of Samsung and LG products as well

      • Brand wars in the comments!

      • Unlike Beko, I can't remember Samsung or LG got fined by the government for causing actual fatalities.

        • Lol what. Did everyone forget this scandal?

          • @ajole: Again that Samsung did not kill anyone. Beko was actually fined in the UK after killing 15 customers with carbon monoxide poisoning. Why so salty, mate?

            • @Rolling245: Not salty haha but what you said could be also said of other brands.

Moral of the story is do model-specific research (not brands), pay attention to recalls and turn your appliances off at the point where possible.

  • had a beko dishwasher, was great.

  • I own a Beko dish washer for 2 years with no problems. It was bought for $540 from JB HiFi after spending $700 for repairing my 4 year old Fisher and Paykel double drawer dish washer. Beko does a better job at almost quarter of the price.

  • I think that's the same model that Aldi sold only rebadged.

  • My only experience is with Beko fridge and my opinion is that be prepared to have minor faults as their designs/engineering is not very thorough and will miss things that you take for granted.

Case in point is the fridge handle, it broke after 2 years, at a stress point between the plastic handle and the screw. The plastic used clearly is a bad batch or not engineer for purpose. I didn't follow this up on their warranty as it is a $50 part and I can change it myself. Never had any fridge handle break on me ever.

Based on a data point of 1, I'm not saying Beko will eventually require major repairs (I believe Beko to be quite reliable on that front), but minor faults can be just as inconvenient. My 2 cents.

    • I've personally had good experience with LG and Mitsubishi whitegood appliance. Samsung seems to be trying to sell home appliances on the back of their galaxy phone brand and TV
      reputation.

No clue about Beko though, but saving a tiny bit is not worth the hastle and time waste of going through repair process. You'd think in 2020 they would have quality control down, with the ease of data collection, testing etc.

  • It is still at the same price ? My friend got one and happy with it :)
