I think you'll be better off getting something like the "XPS 8930 Desktop 9th Gen Core i5-9400 8GB 256GB SSD GTX 1650" from the same sale for $1359 and a separate monitor for $300 odd.

Fair enough, just like the minimalism of an AIO as opposed to a typical desktop pc but yeh desktop pcs are always going to be more powerful and more easily upgradeable.

    • to support your first time post Along with a not bad deal (I’m no expert) as I’m in the hunt for one.
      Thanks.

Mobile chip for desktop :/. Do you really need AIO? A decent monitor and NUC will cost less.

Great for someone who use it for video streaming, banking and occasional vidcon without cluttering the space.
Bought one for the in laws and they love it; bigger screen than laptop and less clutter than desktop.

  • I dont recommend a Intel NUC and I have been building PCs for many years. Ive got an i5 NUC and Windows 10 wants to update all the time despite turning off the setting. Also the fan wants to be on much longer than a normal PC should. For the same money get a "box" with a 120mm fan.

  • Hi guys, I have a 9yr old hp all in one but it's on the way out. Would this be a suitable replacement, we have 3 kids but none into gaming as yet. We have the space for a desktop etc but not looking to spend a fortune.

Dunny its amazing that your pc is still going after 9 years - you have done well. As per the first posting, having a separate monitor and pc while taking up a little more space, does allow for easier repair/upgrading. Try to find a deal like the one mentioned at the top of the post.

      • Yeah, it's not as though it's been hammered, got it when daughter was 3 or 4 in preschool as easy for a kid to use she's now 13. Boys are 8 and 6 and mainly use it for you tube etc. I did upgrade it to Windows 10 when 10 first came out but it lasted about 12 months and troubles began so went back to 7. Now it's obviously not getting any updates but when it restarts the clock and date always need resetting and it turns itself off every now and again.

  • It’s bad enough that my iMac’s ports are on the back. But at least they’re to one side.

This Dell has all their ports on the back in the middle. That’d drive me more crazy than my iMac does.

  • I could never recommend something as overpriced as this, that comes with a mobile CPU and would be a massive pain in the butt to repair if something went wrong. Oh, and lets says the motherboard fails one day, you won't be able to use the display. AIOs are never a "deal" unless you are alergic to having a separate box as your desktop or something. If you really need something with a small footprint, get a regular monitor and mount a mini PC to the back of it. Far more versatile.

Also, 27" 1080p is the equivilent of 15.6" 1366x768. They look awful up close.
