  • So you're basically paying $5 more than the other options to get a backpack?

    • +1

Yes, for an extra $5 well worth it in my opinion.

      • Only if it's a good backpack, otherwise it just becomes waste.

  • Would you pay $60 for this bag? No description, no reviews and a single photo. They have pulled the wool over your eyes, the backpack is not worth $5, let alone $60.

    • I wouldn't pay $60 for it, but for an extra $5 it's a no brainer.

The watch is great, I have a GTS and my wife has a GTR and no complaints. The price regularly drops to $160-$170 however and an inflated backpack thrown in is just Gearbest taking the piss as always. I'd wait for TobyDeals to do a discount or contact them asking what the best price they can do it.

      • At this price you almost are paying $50 for the bag, as the watch often drops down to $160ish. So I'm sure gearbest is laughing.

Fantastic watch. Not for everyone, but I'm very happy with mine.

Whirlpool thread for it is here: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9vyzvmw3

    • last few comments on that thread talk about the apparent innaccuracy of the GPS and HR monitor - have you experienced any of that?

      • Yep….because I think I made some of the comments… lol

It's a dress watch primarily, not a fitness watch.

  • Amazon seems to have this watch as a lightning deal quite frequently, I picked up the Stainless Steel model on Monday for $195 delivered (they also had the alloy version). I am extremely excited for this to arrive, one of the nicest looking smartwatches IMO

I really liked my GTR. The heart tracking seems to be very laggy and gets thrown off easily, otherwise it's fantastic! I think it's more of a fitband rather than a smartwatch though, which kinda ruins it a little for me as the fitness apps are very average. I use it while I am working on things in the garage/car where I might scratch it, but use my galaxy watch active 2 44mm for everything else. The strap that came with it is quite average, just plastic. Really great value for money, prob wouldn't spend over the $160ish I paid. Looks fantastic and is a great compromise between fitness bands and smartwatches. Incredible battery life too if you don't like charging devices. It's a little on the big side though, bordering too big for average wrists IMO. If it was a smartwatch, I would happily pay much more for it.

Agree - don't get it for the HRM. Or probably the GPS.

But as an analog watch replacement with the ability to get notifications, its amazing.

      • Also happy with mine. Sleep and step tracker, no issues for me. On battery saver mode I get 3 months out of 1 charge. Yes. 3 months

        • Yea I get about 4-5 years out of my regular watch ;-)

On battery saver it didn't really do anything worthwhile for me, with most features off. Also I forgot about charging it often, and would die on me during a day. While I charge my phone every night, I charge my galaxy watch every 4-5 days, I'm more aware of where the battery is at, while the GTR I would just forget it ran on batteries.

Mind you the sleep, GPS, and heart rate data seem wildly inaccurate/different to both Apple iWatch and Galaxy Watch Active 2. Seems to lag, and miss data, and also not get as much as regularly. It could go up to an hour without measuring my heart rate sometimes.

  • I heard the GPS is really inaccurate and not good enough for running / cycling. Has it been fixed?

    • Most likely not. Even after years and several large software updates my amazfit Pace continued to be inaccurate.

It eventually died due to what I figured was a charging fault, never heard back from amazfit.

  • I'm very happy with mine. Can't really comment on the GPS as have only used it at the gym in one spot. HR seems great. Make sure you get the Notify and fitness app. Well worth the few bucks to keep the development going. It can sync a lot of data to google fit. I got this watch after I forked out way more for a galaxy and all the sensors stopped working intermittently. This seems lighter on the wrist and overall I like it better even with the reduced functionality such as typing or voice replying to messages, etc.

  • Price is $225 for me after coupon.

Bought from Toby as the price dropped to $191, after 3% coupon paid $185.xx, expecting another $2.7x cash back. Not the cheapest I know but my amazfit BIP is dying, so need another decent watch for notifications.

        • Received mine just now. Not as slow as I expected under the current lockdown. Looks nice.
