140

For those people who managed to score a HP Touchpad. This app allows multi-tasking within a single app. You can download it by going to the HP App Catalog. I'm not sure when the deal started but it's only for 24 hours.

YouTube link of how it works:

Quote from the app description:
Glimpse is a Touchpad App designed to maximise your productivity by allowing you to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, using a unique (customizable)split-screen interface.

  • Thanks, Just bought it and playing around with it. Seems pretty cool :)

  • thank you so muchhh love the apps!!

  • guys, can you please check your receipt? I'm being charged $5. Requesting a refund from the hp app catalog.

    • I have not received the receipt yet, so how to request a refund if charged $5?

      • I'm not sure what's the proper process. I went back to hp app catalog and selected glimpse, then selected "Report a problem" button on the right, select Payment, then told them the problem incl my receipt no and email address. I also sent forwarded my receipt to [email protected] and asked them to refund. Sorry if this turned out to be a hassle.

  • same here, just got the email and was charged $5. not happy.
this is want i did, as per http://kb.hpwebos.com/wps/portal/kb2/common/article/72206_en…

If you have an issue with any of these App Catalog functions, you can report the issue to Palm’s App Catalog team:

    1. Open App Catalog.
    2. Navigate to the details page of the app that is causing the problem.
    3. Open the application menu in the upper left of the screen.
    4. Tap Report a Problem.
    5. Select the appropriate Problem Type.
    6. Type a summary of the issue.
    7. Tap paper airplane send email icon to send the issue to Palm’s App Catalog team.
  • Yes, I've been charged $5 as well. I contacted Palm Support, and they told me to forward my receipt to this email address: [email protected] and they will look into it.

  • yeah me too I just did a live chat with the webos support from hp app catalog, slicdeals forum also discussing this. Palm support will get swamped with this

    • good, just wondering where to do a live chat with the webos support

  • Guys sorry if this turned out to be a hassle. I've taken a photo of the deal just in case.

    • That is okay. Do you think 3 photos will be enough?

  • +1

Worked for me just then, Netbank shows a pending $0.99 charge from Palm.

    • have you checked your receipt?

      • Receipt said $0.99 too. Maybe they've only just sorted it out and the earlybirds got burnt.

  • why i'm charged for 5$??

  • Anyone got any reply from HP? I haven't heard anything from them… poor response. I emailed ingloriousapps and got the following reply:

    ======================================

Price changes aren't instantaneous. You happened to download the App right around the 'grey zone'. When you clicked 'purchase', you should have gotten a prompt asking you to confirm the charge. In your case if it showed $1, but you were still charged $5, then that's something you have to clarify with HP. As a developer, I don't handle transactions. Therefore I can't provide refunds. The only thing I can do is maybe give you a free promo code for my other Apps (if you want)

So I asked for a free promo code for Pix which looks pretty cool.

    • weird, now i have charged $1 by netbank along with $5?

  • I haven't even opened my touchpad yet (waiting for the screen protector and case etc.) - is there any way to buy this without using the touchpad itself please? thank you.

dude, the TP comes with a wraparound plastic cover, just switch it on and you can still use it

      • Yes, I left the wraparound plastic for 2 weeks before I got my case. Surprisingly the screen is still quite responsive.

    • Does anyone know of a way that this can be purchased without a Touchpad. (Our store had run out, so a mate purchased mine in Sydney for me, and when we meet up i'll get to touchy-feely the Touchpad) But for now i'm owning something cool that i can't use :(

Anyways, so can this be purchased without a Touchpad?

  • Any quick reviews from ozbers? For $1 the claimed functions seem worth the money, however dont know about the experience.

I've only used it for about 15 minutes. But my initial impression was just ok. My biggest issue is the browser. It seems like it's using a browser of its own, so the layout gets a bit messy sometimes. The bookmark/history function is also very limited. I prefer to use the stock browser at the end. If you're a heavy tweeter/rss then you might have a more positive view on this app.

      • Same opinion here, was surprised that it didn't load the stock browser bookmarks.

Found a funny thing which does not inspire confidence in the app. First thing I did was set up the twitter widget. To authenticate a pin for the twitter widget it launches a separate browser card with the pin webpage in it which you then have to type back in Glimpse. The whole point of this app is not to spring up new cards ;) If they made that pin webpage open in the browser widget, that would have made this app win straight away.
