ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo Laptop i9 1TB SSD 32GB RAM - $4299 + Delivery (Free Pickup) @ Umart

170

Two screens is better than one and this is about the cheapest you'll find for the Core i9 model of this over-the-top laptop. Has great reviews on performance and productivity, but battery life takes a hit with the second screen. Have tried price matching at a few stores but to no avail.

why not 1000? Its an absolute steal! :)

    • +7

      $4299… where's the 2080?

  • well its only $4299 everybody

  • Fully sick…

  • someone seriously thinking to buy that? wow and i thought world is in recession….

    • +11

World is, individuals are not - you've either still got your job or you don't. Nothing changed for me, I'm a bit jealous of all these people getting to spend time doing nothing.

      • +6

And getting paid to do so. You could campaign like the JB Hi-fi employees and ask for your workplace to shut down.

I'm happy and grateful to still have a job for at least the next 5 months or so…

      • +1

There's no need to be jealous, that could be you if you just resign

  • +2

i'll swap ya for some rolls of TP…

    • +1

With this much of computing power it can be used to 3D print more TP rolls, :)

  • Warranty typo on their website lol, 12 "Year"

    • Justifies the price. Will buy one for sure

  • AMD YES: Ryzen 4800 laptops.

    • +2

OEM's arent buying in yet and best GPU pairing at the moment is a 2060 MaxQ … unforunate but wondering if Intel is pulling some strings in the OEM laptop market to keep AMD out… well them and Nvidia

      • Probably! Intel probably gives OEMs a certain amount of money to advertise that their gaming laptops are running on Intel CPUs, and that their laptops are optimised for gaming with Intel CPUs.

        • Isn’t this illegal? Monopolizing the market and all?

  • +3

i got the smaller (& much cheaper $1374) version and love it, cant comment about if this is a deal

    • What did you buy?

Am in the market for a tablet/laptop hybrid.

    • What processor and ram?

      • i5-10210U 8GB 512GB SSD MX250

    • @mdcsooty
How/where did you get it for $1374?

      • +1

Wireless1 via ebay, they list for AU $1,622.00 but there was a working 15% coupon so total was AU $1,378.70

        • Nice, thanks for the heads up!

  • +1

12 year warranty got me. Thanks, OP. Got 12.

Guys, if you're looking for some serious laptop power without a ridiculous price tag, wait for laptops that come with the AMD 4800H CPU, an almost 20% performance increase over these i9 chips and more than likely at a more affordable price.

    • Unless you're making sweet moolah with your lappy, I'd wait for AMD.

    • and runs considerably cooler as well = better battery life.

    • I am getting an ASUS G703GXR for AU$4000 (used for 6 months by seller). It's a 17inch @ 144hz laptop, has an i9-9980HK and RTX 2080. The current price for a brand new one is approximately AU$6000. What do you think?

Is this a troll? We got so many ppl unemployed, no one can afford that

    • no one can afford that

      Speak for yourself

  • I wonder how much the CPU throttles, considering Intel's exaggerated 45W TDP. There are recently released Clevo based laptops, with desktop AMD 3950x and 3900x CPUs, generating less heat and and using less power than these Intel laptop CPUs.

  • Would've prolly pulled the trigger if it had a RTX2070! Nice 4K OLED screen though…

  • One day, I'll have enough income that hasn't been used on mortgage and rental payments to buy this.

    • +1

      mortgage and rental payments

If it's for the one home, I'm afraid you're doing something wrong

      • Its not. I rentvest.

Won the 16gb ram version of one of these from JB, it’s a seriously lovely piece of equipment. I turn my on once a week to blow out the vents but otherwise has ran everything I’ve wanted it to nicely :-)

  • +1

    Wait, $4299 and I'm only getting a 2060?

    cmon now

  • cheaper at your local Cash Converters

  • What is the second screen for? It's a bit like the foldable phones. They look interesting but provide no discernible benefits.

    • I dual screen a website while writing a word doc (or visa versa) or have small screens like calculator, twitter & Spotify all open together on bottom screen

  • +2

I'd prefer to just buy 4 gaming desktops and a laptop

  • +2

Should I buy this laptop or a used car hmmmm…

    • guess one is more useful during isolation …

  • Really nice machine, but I will wait until Ryzen 4000 comes out.

  • would pull the trigger if the site didnt 404 out

    • the refreshed version with 10th gen cpu is 2k but only with a 250mx gpu, hardly think a 2k price hike is worth an upgraded cpu and 4k laptop screen
