    Decent deal if you need it right now. Otherwise wait for the next $240 for 240GB deal on Boost.com.au ; offered every few months.

    Had an issue with porting even though all my details were correct, more than 48 hours and my port still hadn’t gone through, no notification or anything but a quick chat to customer support fixed it up, they ported it on the spot while I waited on the phone.

    So if your port is taking a long time, contact Boost. Otherwise you might be waiting a while.

      Yup, just do the activation/port directly with Boost and your account with Telstra will automatically be closed and you'll receive a final bill.

      Telstra customers need to contact boost and get a blank sim sent out.

      You can't port from Telstra to Telstra.

        This is also incorrect for my situation this year.

        If you have a postpaid plan with Telstra you need to contact Telstra and tell them you want to change to a prepaid plan. They will initiate this change on their end and usually takes an hour or more.

        Once you are on the prepaid plan (you can check this through the ‘My Telstra‘ app) change the SIM card over to your Boost sim and call Boost and tell them you are wanting to port your Telstra prepaid number over (provide sim number and number to port over). They will do the change on their end. They will tell you you’ll get a text, but most cases you won’t.

        Your boost SIM card will become active and you may notice your number isn’t ported over at the same time (It activates the default number first), don’t stress, your mobile number will port over within 1hr usually and then It will be done.

        100% truth. I did this exact same process twice in February 2020 :)

          Your 100% truth isn't the only truth. Your method will work AND so will JVs.

          Note when you call Boost to activate from a Telstra postpaid they will tell you that they will need to send you a blank SIM.

          Another method is porting to a different carrier like Optus eg$2 sim. That's what I did from Telstra postpaid to Optus to Boost.

Seems stupid but it is Telstra after all, so a manual workaround sounds about right… from Boost FAQ: "If you are porting from Telstra to Boost Mobile, you will need a special blank Boost Mobile SIM. Please call 1800 100 933 (8am-9pm AEST, 7 days) and we will send one out to you.

        If you’re in metro Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart or Brisbane, you’ll receive it the next day (if your order is placed before 4pm).

        When your blank SIM arrives, contact Boost on 1800 100 933 (8am-9pm, 7 days) to activate it."

    I know that Boost is using Telstra 4G signal
    anyone know is the speed , coverage and signal strength exactly the same between Telstra and Boost?

      Yes, exactly the same speeds, coverage and signal strength.

      I travel Wollongong to Sydney for work and can confirm no difference between.

    Their customer support is pretty much non-functional now. All enquiries whether activation or porting will now go to Telstra support team who will say they are not responsible. I think this happened due to COVID shutting down the call centres for Boost.
    Live chat down also.
    Consider if you were to activate during this period.

      I ported two relatives in within the last couple of days. Zero issues. Porting took around 15 mins

    Have been trying to get a sim from Boost for past 2 days. Every time I place an order it denies the action and makes me complete the form again.

    Has their system gone down? I'd be worried about porting right now, seeing their system is so flaky
