@Arthur Dunger: Haven't tried the GPS out yet. I did update to the latest version which is supposed to fix the GPS issues though according to comments in this post. Will let you know if/when I get around to it I guess.

            • @dreamstation: Don't call me Shirley

      Ozbargain skills -1

      • Well I checked before I bought but the deals on here were all old.

  • This outranks the nokia 2.3 in value IMHO, which is what I was waiting for, so I bought one. Thanks OP.

  • Grabbed it as a temp phone as mine died recently while i wait to see what the next release of phones is like. Word of warning I first tried to get this delviered to parcel locker and they cancelled my order as they said I didn't meet their customer privacy and security standards.

Should I buy this to replace my cracked s9+??

How does this match up against s9+? Any comparisons from users?

    • +1

I have an S7 and was considering replacing it with an A20… the S7 hardware is better than this phone in a number of ways so your S9+ likely far exceeds the performance of this.

My S7 is cracked but I'll use it til the end and likely replace it with one of these or its replacement.

  • Dual sim?

    • +1

I thought it was a dual sim phone, but confirmed this is a single sim model.

  • Thanks op, got one

  • should i upgrade from an iphone 5?

    • +1

Only if you want to switch to Android, have bigger and more colourfull screen and much longer battery life.

Will be bigger and heavier though lol.

I don't use my phone for much besides communication and social media. I'm basically a boomer

        • Many boomers use smartphones for more than communication and social media.

Also using social media such as twitter and facebook are very recource hungry.

  • I bought one for my grandma. Any recommended screen protector? She always drop off things to ground.

    • +1

Yeah, a really strong one as well as a solid soft gelly bumper case with strenghtened reinforced corners.

        Thank you.

Thanks OP. Got a couple to upgrade the kids’ ageing phones.

  • Some good specs

  • Would this be any better than an iPhone 5s?

    Shows $277 now?

    • Yes, I ordered it, prior, hope that they honour the price

    • damn was it like a pricing error or something and now its fixed?

      • Officeworks tend to just price match, so their price was just someone else's and that jumped around. ~$180 is a regular Coles price, so no price error. Coles rotate their specials on Wednesdays so maybe OW was just matching them.

        • oh right

          that makes so much sense

          cheers

          glad i bought one yesterday

          • @macdaddyjordan: But Coles only sells the Prepaid Locked version for $169-$199 ( both the Vodafone & Telstra

prepaid versions ) I thought, so Officeworks usually would not price match that. Might have missed

unlocked sale price, so stand to be corrected lol.

  • Ordered yesterday arvo, received just now this morning.

Why would Officeworks end this deal if the Coles deal got extended?

Anyone able to Price Match Coles with Officeworks??

    • +1

No, Coles deal is for network locked phone. This one is unlocked. Crazy that people are bidding up to $270 for this on ebay.

      • Excactly. See my above comment.

  • I have this phone and just wanted to say how much I hate it. It's been the worst interfacing phone I've ever had. How can a tiny iphone 5 screen be more successful in typing than this phone! I HATE the thin bezel and its pretty much unusable in so many locations because it detects a tiny fold of skin from the palm holding it etc (I'm a 41yr old healthy slim non fat fingered 70kg male)…

It's just a crap phone, and the updates keep coming and make the whole phone slower and worse (despite having the bare minimum apps installed).

Don't feel bad if u missed this deal, this phone just ain't that great an experience in general imo.

      Are you using Swiftkey?

    • +4

What does your weight have to do with your typing skills?

    • +2

I haven't had this issue and I'm a 52 year old fat fingered guy.

    • thin bezel … detects a tiny fold of skin from the palm holding it

Me too. Haven't found a way to hold it to avoid this. Maybe a case helps?
