  • Is this capable of warning on an irregular heartbeat? Have a friend that suffers from that and would possibly buy it as a gift if it does have that feature.

    • +1

It monitors, you can see the history in the app. Don't think it alerts on irregular hearty beats. One of my colleague had a Garmin one and it did alert of irregular heartbeats. Sorry no idea about what model it was.

      • Currently have a Vivoactive 3 and it does irregular heartbeat alerts.

    • Nope it doesn't.iWatch does.

    • +5

You should wait for the Withings Scanwatch then, it'll be the 1st FDA approved watch with heart arrhythmia detector

Great price, thanks OP. I bought this as a gift for the wife on 8 March. She’s been using it and happy with it. What is JB return policy? Can I buy this and return it with the old receipt for a refund of the $199 I paid for it? Thanks in advance for assistance on this.

      • +2

I'm sure you can find the return policy on your own, it's not a difficult task. You won't be able to return an item purchased 6 weeks ago for change of mind. Every good ozbargainer has a credit card with Price Protection Insurance on it.

        • -5

Thanks I could not find the number of days JB has in their returns policy. I might have to give them a call.

          • +1

@Going Broke: Unless the watch is faulty, I don't think JB has a 'change of mind/better Ozbargain deal' return policy.

            • -1

@PuppieWayne: Update, JB refunded me for that purchase and thanks OP I got one from this deal. This update might help anyone else in my situation. Just go see the store manager and it’s their discretion. Or maybe I got lucky but must say he was super helpful as in general stores are empty and also giving consideration to the COVID-19 situation.

Not sure why I got negged for my previous comments. I was just asking a genuine Q.

    • Piggy backing here for visibility.

My sister in law had been trying to get one all day in Lavendar. She had managed to get a black one put on hold at Chirnside Park. She since acquired a purple one. Worth calling Chrinside Park if you're local and you still want one.

  • +1

Awesome - my Blaze finally carked it and wont hold a charge for more than half a day. Didn't want to spend a lot on the latest and greatest.

  • +1

Thanks OP, just ordered yet another smart watch, not sure why.

    • if you have an apple watch there, i'd be happy to buy it from you :D

      • Thanks, I do have an apple watch 5 with Milanese Loop but hanging onto it - not sure why.

    • +1

Most probably because you got nowhere to actually spend your money in this COVID-19 economy.

Pretty much your holiday plans can be used to buy hundreds of these gadgets.

  • +2

It doesn't say explicitly, but in the video it shows a guy wearing bluetooth headphones and running, so can I go for a run with this, pair with my bluetooth headphones while playing a podcast, and leave my phone at home?

    • +1

Correct. You are limited by the watch built in memory though which is not the biggest

      • 2.5GB I believe.

      • +1

Probably a silly question, but does this watch have local music storage capability? I.e can I leave my phone at home and go for a run listening to songs I've transferred to the device without network usage? :)

        • +6

That's the same question on top of this node. The answer is Yes. Limited, but yes.

          • @ob1wan: Apologies, thanks for clarifying my definitely silly question lol

    • +5

It's only connected GPS though if that's important to you. You'd need your phone if you wanna get GPS tracking data.

      • So can it sync with Strava on my phone after I finish my run?

    • +1

FYI transfering files is a bit of a pain, as you need to put the versa in a certain mode, and then get it to sync a "playlist" which takes quite awhile. also you cant scrub files with the watch..

  • Awesome thanks, I wanted something that does the basics but can also control Spotify on my phone - this is perfect.

    • can this control apple music?

    • So does mi band, lot cheaper

  • +2

Price beat at OW? Nvm.. no special edition

Lol negged for a question and then correcting when checked. Without a comment either ;) stay awesome you!

  • Just to clarify, can this have a Spotify app?

    • The Spotify app only controls the music on your phone. Ie you can't download Spotify music to your watch and run without your phone.

Music services all made silly little exclusivity deals. Hopefully this opens up more with the next Fitbit generation now that they are Google owned.

      • What google bought fitbit? Hopefully this means that wearOS will become better

  • +7

I had two Versas in a row die, just became utterly unresponsive. Look online - you'll find there's lots of people complaining about them. I switched to Galaxy S3, much better experience and zero issues.

As a watch, fitness tracker and sleep tracker, versa is good.

But as a smart watch, they're terrible.

    • Because it's not really a smart watch. It's a fitness tracker with a few smart features like receiving notifications and controlling your music. For that it's fantastic.

  • +1

    How accurate is the HRM?

    • +2

Fitbit HRMs are pretty accurate for an optical sensor. Chest strap sensors are always more accurate.

And it does continuous heart rate mornitoring (it's always recording), which is pretty cool compared fancier smart watches.

      • Chest strap sensors are always more accurate.

Always? I've found the Apple watch to agree closely with the chest strap, but is more reliable, as the strap can be affected by high-voltage power lines, a real problem on paths that follow rail lines. Previous Samsung watch was less accurate.

        • +1

Thanks, I had no idea about all that.

  • I purchased mine when they first released and I have had no problems with it, love that the battery lasts several days.

  • Thanks OP, just ordered one. Although i selected click and collect, postage would have only been $4.99 for me (regional victoria)

  • +2

Finally pull the trigger, my first ever smartwatch, hopefully the fitness tracking system works well….

  • Thanks OP, pulled the trigger. Had a lazy $20 sitting in my PayPal account, which was a nice surprise. Can finally leave my phone at home while going for runs!

  • Thanks OP, got one for the missus. Made an order and received confirmation for pickup after a few minutes.

  • Ordered and apparently delivered by mid-next week. Woop.

    • What time did you order - mine says
Arrives on or before 05 May 2020?

      • Around 9:15am. I had both Express and Standard delivery options and both were $4.99.

  • +3

Amazon has it at same price with free delivery

I don't need one but it might benefit someone who interest in it.

    • +3

Can't see it? Sold out already?

  • -1

Be aware that some models of Fitbit have a major flaw in that they quit while in exercise mode. This has been the case for years and they still haven't fixed it. I had a Charge 3 and returned it because of this.

  • Just confirming if you take this on a run without your phone it won’t be able to track as it has no gps? Cheers

    • It uses the phone GPS to track

    • it'll estimate distance travelled based on steps but no, it uses connected GPS (from your phone)

      • Damn, as I suspected. It would have been such a great little device with in built gps

  • Thanks for posting. Just picked one up :)

  • Which smart watch has a round face and good tracking and is affordable?

    • +1

I'm using Amazfit GTR, happy with it. Battery lasts over 2 weeks easily.

      • Where to buy it for cheap ?

  • +2

new versa not that great btw.. pretty much the same as the original. except only one button which is annoying

    • I agree.
My faulty Versa was replaced by Fitbit with Versa 2 under warranty (screen died). Versa 2 is NOT worth the price tag is carries. Also, the screen, while AMOLED, is of pentile matrix type, meaning it's not as sharp as on Versa 1.
On the other hand, Versa 2 has a new CPU is much faster when interacting with UI. However, performance and functionality wise, Versa 1 almost the same as Versa 2.
I couldn't care less about Alexa being built-in.

  • +1

    Perfect timing - thanks!

    • +1

      Sorry please delete.

    • +1

No, that says "versa style". Looks like a cheaper Chinese brand one. I think the actual watch is the Y7.

      Edit: just saw your reply.

  • Any cashbacks?

  • +4

Bought it to replace my amazfit bip, going to miss the 30 day battery life but this seems more like my pebble, which i liked (before fitbit bought them and shut them). ANYWAY, ty.

  • +6

    $94.05 C/C with Suncorp Rewards.

    • me too

  • Good stuff got one.

  • Is the band interchangeable

    • +2

      Yes they are

  • Just ordered one! And win win with the woven band for me. Looks like it'll be much nicer on my skin then the old blaze I used to use

Thank you! Still plenty of stock in Blacktown and Castle Hill by the looks of it

  • I was looking at Xiaomi band 4 or new 5 when it comes out in next few months. This is bit better yes? Might snap one up.

  • Nice, thanks for the heads up, Mother's Day sorted for Mrs Texan!

  • Good buy!! Thanks OP

  • Any cashbacks?

  • Thanks OP. Got one.

  • Hey can anyone answer, are you able to take calls through this fitbit as in talk through the device? Or is it Notifications only?

    • +2

No microphone or speaker so no. You can click to accept or reject calls on it but need to talk on your phone.

  • Okay, my order keep getting cancelled by JB, is anybody else getting this: "has not passed our verification process so it has been cancelled." email?

    • Click and collect went through within minutes.

    • It was either my email address (gmail) or my IP (most likely). I was using NordVPN even though it was an Australian IP. Got the confirmation without the cancel after the third time.

  • I just got for the missus, to replace her charge 2

  • +1

Thanks OP. I ordered one. Order a bit late, can only do delivery, all my near store have Out of stock.

  • thanks OP! got one with suncorp rewards, $94.05.

  • +1

  • +1
