A lot of people browse and even take advantage of bargains shared on this site without upvoting.

      • +3

Number of upvotes to how many people viewed the deal is not a good way to tell if a deal is good…

        Actually it is.

If a high proportion of people viewing consider it a good deal, they will upvote.

It's actually a better indicator that just looking at the absolute number of votes as it indicates the enthusiasm for the deal…

        • If a high proportion of people viewing consider it a good deal, they will upvote.

No they won't, I've bought many things from the deals shared here on OzBargain and I don't think I've ever upvoted a single deal.

          • @skjb93: Yes they will…

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/531553 21% upvote rate

            vs

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/507116 3% upvote rate as per the OP's example…

            • @jv: Although I think you're probably right, sampling bias could explain the difference there.

              Examples that come to mind:
              * Gym-bros could be more likely to jump on a deal without upvoting
              * people could be more interested in reading comments on protein deals (that's why I'm here)

          • +2

            @skjb93:

            I don't think I've ever upvoted a single deal.

That's OK, it's not mandatory to contribute to the site…

            you've upvoted 3 times by the way…

            • @jv: I visit this site 2-3 times a day for over 5 years and have upvoted 3 deals, also I didn't purchase any of those deals…

              • +3

@skjb93: Congrats on being a bad community member I guess??

        • True but that logic favors items that have wider appeal. People generally wont upvote a deal even if its a good deal if the product/service doesn't appeal to them at all.

          • -1

            @Dowhatuwant:

True but that logic favors items that have wider appeal

Oh, you think unappealing deals are good then ???

            I don't follow that logic…

            • +2

@jv: Well yeah if i'm allergic to tuna a sale on tuna wont appeal to me but it could still be a great deal in terms of price. Why you being stubborn today?

    • Last post got 0 downvotes

      out of 2919…

That means 100% of people didn't think it was a bad deal…

You can't downvote just because you don't like deal. It will get revoked.

A -ve vote must contain a valid reason, unlike a +ve vote.

        Read the voting rules…

    • No one cares

        Exactly my point… Only 3%…

          • @spiff: I don't really care if no one cares, even though your claim is unsubstantiated…

    • +1

It only means the other people didn't up vote it. No more meaning can be gleaned from the data.

$95.40 delivered is super cheap for the 4.5kg bag.

Just applied the price beat on Aminoz and ordered for $87.06 delivered (Clubz membership).

    https://www.aminoz.com.au/optimum-nutrition-gold-standard-10…

    • This is excellent! how did you get clubz membership.

      • +1

you can subscribe to it for $10/month. They put back $10 back in your aminoz account every month. Its a win win…

    • Did the same to use some Amino z points

      • yeah I have got over 9000 points. Didn't use it though, accumulating for a bigger purchase!

    • nice!, I might do the same, did you get any confirmation email from them?

      • +1

Yeah got the confirmation but its on hold atm like it always does after you apply a price beat.
They always review it and manually then approve it!

    • +4

Thanks for that. I also applied the price beat and got it for $87.94. No need to sign up for the Clubz membership.

$88 for 4.5kg of this protein is seriously cheap.

      • Yeah just realised they also take free shipping into consideration from price beat and free shipping over $120 is invalidated.
Have had Clubz for ages so kinda used to free shipping.

      • How'd you get it to work? Shows $154.95 for me

        • +1

Need to copy and paste the link from this deal and then type in the price beat price then hit 'apply price beat'. Don't forget to tick the free shipping box.

          • @Hunter14: Got it thx. Couldn't get the $10 referral to work but still a bargain.

    • +3

I got the same price without the clubz membership?? $87 im cheering hahaha

    • Great find. Upvoted you and the OP's deal too. Well done. Purchased 4.5 kg thru Amoinoz. Does strawberry taste good?

    • +1

      Hi everyone

We have never posted on someone else's deal, but considering the sheer volume of orders we have generated in the last 24 hours, I feel it's important to share this publicly.

Yesterday we received an overwhelming number of orders for this deal. Within a matter of hours, these orders represented losses of several tens of thousands of dollars. As a small business, these losses are not sustainable by us, particularly during this uncertain economic period.

In line with our guidelines, I have had to make the very tough decision to decline all the price beats that were placed yesterday as these orders were all significantly below our cost price. This is the first time we have ever had to do this, but we cannot continue to operate as a viable business in the current climate.

All orders placed yesterday have been closed off and an email is now being sent out explaining this. Refunds for orders placed are being processed and should land in your account within the next few days (please consider the weekend which will delay things).

I can see our competitor still has stock available and practically all the price beats were for ON Whey, I encourage you to purchase from our competitor.

I understand this is an inconvenience and disappointment to everyone who placed an order with us. For that reason we are going to credit everyone's account with $20 in Z Points (store credit).

I cannot say how much I appreciate the support from everyone on this forum. I also understand that this is not going to be a popular decision as I myself would be disappointed as a customer. Again I am very sorry for the disappointment.

On a side note, we will be updating the frontend of our website to prevent any price beat submissions for this deal on the page itself.

      • Jay (Amino Z)
      • We understand and appreciate the post, tnx m8

Cheers OP, bought 2kg @ $54, most others advertised at $80 mark

  • Thanks for the post. For $75, I just scored 2 pairs of shoes, 4 tanks, 1 shorts, 1 cap and a hoodie.

    • Did you find anything regarding sizes? Only size chart listed had no information on make shirt sizes etc?

    • I have to say the apparel sales are ridiculous! most of these are 75% off. So Good.

      • Yeah keen to get some just don't want to get stuck with too small or too big lol. Being gym wear large could deviate massively inside to compared to normal clothing etc

      • +4

Just go for the larger size and if too big, muscle up til you fit in them. Do you even lift brah?

      • How did you find the quality in their workout clothes? Comfortable? Loose or slim fitting?

        • I think tanks are true to size. I wear Nike Mediums fit and can fit medium tanks slightly loose (could even go a size lower for a tighter fit)

Not sure about hoodies but i ordered anyway. Hopefully someone who has derrimut apparel can add some value here

Whats the expiry date on these?

    • Dehydrated processed food, would probably be better described as "best before" than "expiry".

I'd eat it months after the date.

  • Great find op. No brainer price.

  • +1

The price is good for 4.5KG if you like the chocolate flavour

    • +2

There are four flavours, banana cream, cookies and cream, vanilla cream and double chocolate.

  • +1

FREE SHIPPING $50 and over - $10 otherwise

  • Closest we've come to the $80 for the 10lb bag from Amazon back in 2018.

Did you meat heads crash the site?

Its very slow….and the cart has stuff in it that I didn't put there!

      • Yeah same here! still stuck at the checkout too

        • Website is freaking out big time and messing up the carts/cookies.

Go to PayPal checkout and I see someone else's name and address

          • @purpleturtle: Mine has come up with $300 worth of items I'm paying for with paypal even though I only put 1 item in my cart. So I give up with this.

            • @udem113: Got through on the 4th try - right product and right amount showed up on PayPal account.

          • @purpleturtle:

Go to PayPal checkout and I see someone else's name and address

            Seems like a privacy breach.

          • @purpleturtle: me too. I was like "shit, someone hacked my account"

  • Can I use it even if not going to gym? Is it effective use of this :(

    • +1

      Yes

    • What's your daily protein requirement? Are not not able to achieve those protein requirements with you currently daily food intake?

Powder is quick and convenient, however isn't better to stick with actual food than manmade supplement

    • why not both? it's hard to get 70-80 grams of protein in a day through just food.

      • -1

300gm of chicken in 24 hours is difficult? That's literally one meal.

        • Yes it does get hard to digest 2kgs of chicken a week, $25 of chicken, 5000 calories worth and that is for a person that is not active needs. I am a personal trainer so my living is looking fit and having a physique people aspire to gets me clients as it gives me more credibility so I do a lot of training so I would need up to 150g a day and it should be spaced throughout the day. Also it's important to give your body protein with fast digestion and absorption immediately after strenuous training. A combination of both real food protein and fast digesting, absorbing protein and no protein is used as efficiently in the body as whey protein but I get protein from many sources including eggs, meat, nuts, seeds, yoghurt, cheese and whey protein and each does their job in their own way. I wouldn't recommend deriving all of your protein intake from whey protein but it does have it's place. I don't overdo it, one shake a day, 26g, less than a quarter of my total intake but when your body is screaming for replenishment there is nothing better to quickly slam one down and it keeps you going between meals also without reaching for a poorer option. Some people can just eat chicken, brown rice and broccoli each and every meal but most people can't. I can't, and I need to be able to provide solutions to other people who can't to get their macronutrient balance right. Not many people chow down on 2 chicken breasts each and every day.

  • Thanks Op! Derrimut247's website is getting smashed.

Ordered one through Amino-z with price beat!

  • Double Rich Chocolate 4.5kg is out of stock. Not sure if Aminoz will honour the price beat.

    • just got from Aminoz for $87, give it a go

      • +2

I have already ordered but they put price beat orders on hold. By the time they start confirming the price beat orders, they might reject our orders due to lack of stock with original seller.

        • +4

i think gym supplement stores would need every bit of business they can get right now. fingers crossed they dont cancel

          edit:typo

        • Price has gone up to $101.95 at Derrimut. AminoZ might reject the price beat just because it's no longer $95.40. Here's to hoping that price beat claims are honoured.

  • Finally managed to get an order through. Yay!

  • Just got it on Amino Z with free shipping. Fingers crossed they allow it!

  • 4.54kg has run out in all flavours, had to get 2.27kg.

Oh well, the 4.54 works out 63 cents a shot, 2.27 73 cents a shot. I thought I had a great deal on what I am currently using which is $1 a shot so I took this now I'm stocked up until the new world arrives.

    • +1

I wanted to get the 4.54kg in Cookies and Cream but thought I'd get two tubs of the 2.27 instead with different flavours (hope strawberry banana is good), not much increase in price and it's more convenient keeping it in tubs.

      • +3

I just got a 4.54kg price beat from amino z as well, I'm stocked up on protein now for at least a year but for $87 it works out 53 cents a shot, that's a bargain I can't refuse because you get stiffed big time on protein if you buy at the wrong place or wrong time, they reckon it has 2 years expiry and I also got a 1.4% cash rewards cashback haha so I just bought nearly 7 kilos of protein but this is a top brand. It's half price today compared to other premium whey protein powders so I will be saving 50 cents a day. Got to strike while the iron is hot.

        • +1

Good for you mate, very rare to get such a good deal on ON protein as it is and getting it at less than $20/kg for this brand is awesome.

      • NOT stackable on beat price. It said that under the voucher field.
