This is nespresso compatible too !! Great price!!

  • do any of these types of machines have a hot water feature to make a tea?

    • +2

I have this machine, you just press start without a pod inside and it only does hot water instead, i use it this way for everything i need hot water for so i got rid of my kettle

      • How you manage the quantity ? Or do you have to press it multiple times to get the right quantity of water ?

        • +1

Well for example i use two nespresso pods per normal size coffee mug and that’s pressing the lungo (longest setting) both times and that still leaves a bit of of room for milk haha

For a milo for example same thing without pods, cup noodles pressing the longest setting 3 times, it wouldn’t be good if you need alot of hot water at once but fine for the occasional use like i said :)

I don’t find the annoyance in doing it and rather press a few times then boil a kettle for myself anyway

          Hope that helps

          • @Seiya Ryuuguuin: You can stop the water instantly by pressing it again so overfill is never an issue if your there watching it too i should mention

            • @Seiya Ryuuguuin: Can this use expressi pods from aldi?

              • @Chopel: Not sure sorry, i would guess not however

              • @Chopel: L’Or pods and Aldi pods are not compatible with each other. If you want to use Aldi pods, you need to use the Aldi machines (or other K-Fee systems):
                https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/533390

The standard L’Or and Nespresso pods are compatible with each other, though. So you can use regular Nespresso (or Nespresso compatible) pods in the L’Or.

          • @Seiya Ryuuguuin: What you don’t boil the water, it’s not hot enough

      • No, it’s not hot enough mate, you are meant to use cooked water not tap water,

I'm new to pod coffee, could you guys recommend me a good pod brand for flatwhite? Thanks!

Just curious how these compare to fully automatic coffee machines?

    Such as the

    breville oracle touch?

    • +2

That question seems too ridiculous to be serious, but not funny enough to be a joke… I'm confused.

  • So guys, used the machine for two days straight -

    Easy setup
    Easy to use and clean.
    Nice looking and compact.
    Can make double shot.
    Is Nespresso pods compatible.
Makes quick coffee and it does come out hot! Taste depends on the pods/strength.
Milk frother is super cool. Froths a lot. You can remove the spring for a ‘less frothed’ milk.
Can accomodate small to large glass size.

Overall happy with the purchase. Couldn’t have asked for anything more for the price paid.

    • Baby breville unit I was using has been retired and this is replacing it.
Agree with all of the above, all round a better unit. It even takes the tall mug my wife likes to use, and with the larger XXL barista pods the coffee still tastes good.
At reasonable cup sizes it is even better. Tried it also with a decaf normal sized pods and it still tasted as good as you can expect from a pod.
I think it is a great deal.
