  • How does this works with Netflix?

  • I don’t trust ‘’lifetime subscriptions’’, there are operating cost in running server and getting new locations, it would probably last a year or two

    • I was the same when I first came across this deal & didn't buy it… That was about 3 years ago now & they're still around.

Shame I didn't buy it back then as even if they shut down now $20/year wouldn't have been bad.

      • I am also too lazy to do a check on them as if they keep logs, where they are from etc. I don't plan to do anything illegal in the future but I wouldn't want to get a service protecting my data, storing it or even selling it. The last point is also why I am quite skeptical, nothing is cheap, we all pay in a way … I see VPN with short life cycle as potential hack. You let them see all your data and once they close down, they'd be sitting on a pile of confidential information you provided willingly … I don't think I'm being paranoid or am I?

EDIT: I got NordVPN a year before the revealed breach, I'll probably go somewhere else once it runs out in 2021

      • I bought a lifetime subscription in Jan18 for A$18 and have used it daily. Absolutely no complains from me.

  • Anyone know where I can get a wireguard one? I have PiA but it's only for beta customers. I want to fiddle with it cheap, I don't need more than 1GB of data, ever.

  • I got this (it feels like 5 years ago) on the exact same deal. Use it every now and then but it works every time i connect, can't ask for too much more than that!
The app is consistently updated and easy to use.
I do lose speeds as expected when connecting. I'm on Telstra in Melbourne and connected to Telstra in Sydney on Speedtest and got 90.1Mbps Down and 36.2Mbps up
I connected to Sydney in the app and checked speeds again (back to Telstra Sydney) and got 62.5Mbps down and 29.7Mbps up
I connected to Belarus in the app and checked speeds again (back to Telstra Sydney) and got 6.9Mbps down and 5.1Mbps up
I connected to Singapore in the app and checked speeds again (back to Telstra Sydney) and got 15.2Mbps down and 10.3Mbps up
So that is the sort of degradation you can expect if it helps?

  • +1

FYI - Can try using code "STACKUP10" for 10% off. (worked for me, although in my case I got the 10 license 'fastestvpn' for US$31.50 after discount)

  • Would this be good for Kodi boxes to circumvent the blocking from Australian ISP?
