    Changed to $362.95 today.

  • FYI anyone buying it this time around. The delivery dates are ballooning out. I just ordered two with amazon prime expedited shipping, and my dates are " May 20, 2020 - May 23, 2020".

    • I ordered this on the Tuesday and got it today. I have no idea how! It must have been local stock lying around.

      • Lol. Funnily enough I just got an email from Amazon to advise that it will be delayed. It does show delivered on Amazon, though.

          I'm so envious! Enjoy!

  • $374.11 today. Seems kind of wasteful to order 4 of these just to shuck them and put them in a NAS, why aren't these available standalone for cheaper?

    • why aren't these available standalone for cheaper?

I'm guessing Western Digital can afford to buy millions of these drives at a time, so their per drive cost will be low. And the plastic case can't cost them much. But there's no one making an order for millions of 12TB bare drives because who is going to buy them and where are you going to put them all until people buy them. External drives will be warehoused by everyone that sells them but no one goes to Big W to buy a 12TB bare drive at retail prices. Most people wouldn't know how to install a HDD and wouldn't want to learn.

    • more warranty = higher price

  • Mine took 8 days to arrive. Drive is a white label "wdc wd100emaz", which likely you'll need to cover one of the pins with tape or use a molex to SATA power adapter.

    • isn't that 10TB?

      • Might be both. I actually bought the 10tb as well. I'm pretty sure when I looked in crystal disk i was looking at the new usb drive, before I shucked it. I could check again, but i dunno, lazy

  • Now showing as
    $381.64
    + $22 delivery.

    • Back to ~$366 all inc. now

      • Yes, looked a few hours ago and bought one and the $363 pricing, postage displayed as $19.

  • Yeah mine rocked up Tuesday, left the states Friday. Pretty impressed. I’ve got a Kogan power plug converter but doesn’t seem to work on it. Just emailed WD for a plug, hopefully they can get one sent out for me.

  • Had mine estimated for 20th of May arrival and was pleasantly surprised that it just came in today!

    • Did yours arrive just the box itself with postage stickers on it?

      • Yep, the box looks a bit dirty but the hard drive is still good. Shucked and ready for my Plex server.
