  • Been much cheaper in the past. I paid $38 and it was worth it.

At $69 it's less attractive but seems to be cheaper than the Bunnings ozito equivalent

    • $20 cheaper, but the Ozito is more powerful, and you can't beat the 3-year replacement warranty.

went in had a look, came across this cheeky listing

  • appreciate not his price, but…. I would suggest a slide drop saw, much more versatile in the long run.
after doing a house with floating floor and a few other things etc, the slide was very handy.
With these drop only variants, you must ensure the cutting length is what you need plus a bit more 'for jam'..

Absolutely agree. Sliding mitre is usually ~$149 once or twice a year via Aldi or Bunnings price matching (I got mine @ Aldi for $99 on clearance!). I got one last year and while it hasn't had a heap of use (to be fair, buy something better than a $150 saw if you're going to use it heaps) but it definitely covers all the basics. Not even sure a drop only would cut decking width timber that well.

Agreed as well. The slide is essential, IMO.

  • Doing a bathroom renovation, I love that a whole mitre saw is half the price of a single tap.

For what it's worth these are handy for the firewood cutting people, but I bought a 254mm compound slide. Super glad I did. Used the normal blade for timber framing, and changed to a diamond disk for the tiles. Need the slide for tile length.

    • Clearly you haven't been buying the ozbargain bathroom specials for $5:

      • Link doesn't work, but if it's the Altavista Amazon deal I bought 2..which unfortunately didn't meet the bosses strict standards. Apparently plain round button taps are in. If anyone is looking for a plain round tap/ mixer .. Bunnings $70…or again, get this for the same coin.

  • I have this and am happy enough. Saved me a lot of time when I did my deck last month. Got it for less than this.

FYI blade is crap. Good blade will cost more than the saw itself haha
