    Nevermind, my mistake.

  • Isn't it only on full retail price items, not already discounted prices?

Here's the T&C for Repco sale:
*Valid until midnight Wednesday 29 April, 2020 or while stocks last. Discount applies to full retail price. Available on store stock only. Cannot be used in conjunction with other offers. Does not apply to advertised or clearance lines. Excludes Pioneer, JVC & Sony car audio, GME, Black Vue, batteries, transmissions, engines & cylinder heads, equipment, combo deals, trade purchases and exclusive trade brands. Store stock only. Online only. No rainchecks.

The charger is already 30% off?

    • $30 off is applied when I add the product to my cart.

  • Any information about the powerbank?

      • That's it - but that price!
        Lol! $79.28 for a 5000mA PowerBank worth under $10.

    • +2

It's a crappy 5000mAH one. Nothing to get excited about.

    • Got in the CTEK MXS5.0 charger pack in December with handy included accessories for $89.

Basic Powerbank is worth around $10.
      Accessories are worthwhile.
(Rubber Bumper Cover protects the charger & surfaces, 3 LED Charge Indicator wires onto battery - charger plugs into it)

  • These are good during lockdown, as we drive less now a days. I have a 7amp version and came handy when my car battery totally died. Take note this is not jump starter, i have the GoLoo? jump starter which helped me start the car and finish my grocery run, later i used this to fully charge battery over the course of few hours.

You might as well add $12.80 worth of items to get an extra $20 off if spending $150 :)

Showing as $137.20 for me, so if you add $12.80 more it comes to $100 flat.

  • I bought this on a special by accident for a similar price in 2018, not realising it was $249/$289 RRP until I tried to buy it in-store.

I use this pretty regularly to recondition and maintain charge if I'm not driving for a week or two, on a now 7 year old SLA, and it's fairly easy to leave plugged in for a few days when not needed, or before summer as I crank the AC fairly often, not having a garage to park in and parking outside.

Under $100, it's a perfect alternative to buying a new car battery, or being stuck after work hours with a dead battery.

  • Thanks OP. Purchased this one and Wipers (127 + 25 - 50) brings the price down to $102. Very lucky because I was looking at this charger yesterday, initially want to buy the bundle with cooler bags, but out of stock everywhere after calling some stores, now this bundle is even better.

  • Good price. I just grabbed mine from Sparesbox eBay for $102.81

  • Great product if you take short trips, which I think tends to shorten the life of your car battery. This, used, every few months even will save a lot more than it costs as you can keep your battery for longer.

  • +1

cheaper from sparesbox if youre shipping

    it is $97.40

If you add it to the cart and proceed to check out, it automatically deducts $30 and charges you $97.40.

No need to buy anything else.

  • REPCO SPEND & SAVE
    spend over $100 , save $30

it says, savings also apply to already advertised lines.
    meaning Sales Offers stack !

  • These are awesome. Definitely worth the money.

Even if your battery is fine, I'm sure many people are not driving their cars right now as much as normal and these are easy to clip on and keep them charged safely so the voltage doesn't drop and reduce its life span.

  • I bought this a few weeks ago and I'm very happy with it.

I found it interesting though that nowhere did it say whether I could connect this with the car still "connected."

Surely this is a question any n00b like me would want to know the answer to??

    • +2

Yes you can. That's what the eyelets are for, so you don't have to unhook anything or mess around with alligator clips.

      • Doesn't the electronic devices connected get a strong jolt and fry because the charger is charging the battery whilst it's still connected to delicate electrical devices? Or does that only apply to the bigger chargers, like 20A, 25A and higher currents? Plus how would the batter charger get an accurate diagnosis of the battery if electrical devices are still draining it for juice?

        • How much are your electrical devices are still draining it for juice, when the car is parked? That sounds worrying!

It's not like an old time charger - where you would remove the battery for charging, to avoid damaging electronics. I bought this one to stop doing that.

With these, the charge is pulsed in stages - starting nice & easy (no strong jolt).

It's not as if CTEK don't know about vehicle characteristics. That's all they do.

This charger is designed to charge while the battery is connected in the vehicle. That's what we're paying extra for.

I now drive in & plug the charger into the quick connector on the vehicle - easy!

          • @Rather be Travelling: Oh, it's only the old battery chargers that exhibit this problem, but newer ones are fine? Huh….well, it's just that I've read lots of warning connecting battery chargers to batteries that are connected to the car, so yeah was a bit worried for you lot damaging your delicate electronics without even realising it….but if that doesn't happen with the new chargers, then I take back my comment about that then…

        • Firstly, the CTEK is soft start, so slowly ramps up the voltage and current.
Secondly, the battery provides a buffer. Think of turning the tap on in to a bucket and a tap at the bottom of the bucket leading to the devices. The charger only tops up the bucket very slowly. If you started the car, the alternator will fill it much quicker but everything works fine.

As said, anything drawing current when the car is off is minute, otherwise your battery would be flat in a few hours.

          • @whitelie: Using that same analogy, my thought was the tap connected to a Y hose, one end going to the bucket and the other end going to the electronic devices, rather than indirectly going to the devices via a hole underneath the bucket with which a hose comes out of from.

In the manual on p6, it shows how to permanently connect the CTEK Comfort Connect - eyelet M6 (supplied, shown on p3) to the battery using the eyelets.

Lots of information on car forums - worth a search.

I've fed the connector through the front by the headlights. So I plug it in when I drive in. Easy.

Am using the similar Charge Indicating connector with 3 LEDs which also shows battery charge. Was an included accessory in the $89 PowerBank pack in December.

      • thanks for the replies guys. not exactly obvious, but you're right, the info is in the manual.

        • As you say - it's not that obvious for a n00b. It doesn't show connecting the battery in a vehicle. But that is what is intended.

I considered this charger for quite a while, in Deals. So was confident when I installed it.

Using on an old vehicle that rarely gets driven. Now I don't have to worry - it will start when I need it.

  • Bugger, paid the $127 last week :(

    • The Powerbank pack listed in last Repco deal is still listed at that price. But would be cheaper in this Deal if you find stock or your store orders it in.

Your pack includes accessories & basic PowerBank - that sell for more than $30!

  • Damn good charger. Bought mine last year for under $100 and it included a bag.
    Recommended.

  • Anyone used the monitor? Is it any good?

CTEK Battery Sense Bluetooth Battery Monitor - 40-149

    https://www.repco.com.au/en/search/?text=+CTEK+Battery+Sense…

    • I contemplated it when I got my charger the other week but most reviews seem pretty poor on it. Not worth the outlay it seems.

    • It's vague about what it does - what it measures.

It sends out push notification if battery voltage falls too low. But if the battery is connected to this charger - that should never happen unless the charger is off, disconnected or failed.

They suggest this to watch battery voltage when out in 4wd operating fridge from battery or solar installations.
And to monitor multiple vehicle battery conditions (for car collections) - buying multiple units! As long as you're in Bluetooth range…

Can't see any advantage in my use of this charger.

I do have the CTEK Charge Indicator connector (only use it because it was included in PowerBank pack). It's permanently connected to the battery, which gives a basic indication of battery voltage using 3 LEDs. It is easy to see, positioned in grill at front of car - to connect to charger.

Just got a "your order has been refunded" email. Anyone get one?

    • No, but it also hasn't shipped yet.

      • Oh, strange. I ordered yesterday but got delivered today, very impressed. No email on shipping.

        • So the only email you got was order confirmation? If so, I hope that’s what mine is doing!

          • +1

@Evil-Elmo: Yes, I only got order confirmation email. And today got phone call the package was delivered, but not in a carton from Aus Post or Startrack, only the items I bought in their own package. I guess the store want to save some bucks in shipping cost. I ordered at the store 7km from my home.

    • Yeah mine got refunded too
