An easy-drinking aperitif style, this wine was blended from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It is fresh and inviting with sophisticated champagne-like characters, lifted biscuity yeast autolysis flavours, citrus and floral characteristics and a long finish.

The owners, Daniel and Adele Le Brun, were one of the earliest Marlborough wine producers and the country’s first specialist sparkling winemakers. Cuvee Number 8 Brut is made from a blend of chardonnay and pinot noir grapes. Rich and quite creamy wine with plenty of weight and nutty yeast autolysis flavours. Quite bready with a good texture and drying finish. Impressive wine in a crowd-pleasing style.

No.1 Family Estate is a specialist sparkling wine producer based in New Zealand. The Le Brun family emigrated from France to establish this ‘New World’ venture.

  • I can't seem to find any reviews about this, can you provide any?

      • I was referring more to something like viveno where users can rate and describe the wine - I'm not that educated on wine so I usually rely on others

          Hi

I have tried this wine as we taste all our wines before listing. It is exceptional with a nice small bead I would note it is dry and would not suit someone who prefers a sweeter wine.

This is champagne right? Just made in NZ.

I know France is anal about calling it a - 'sparkling wine'…

    • Hi yes it is. You are right we can't call it Champagne however it is the traditional method it is from New Zealand but the winemaker is 8th Generation of winemaker from the Champagne region. There is a video about the vineyards and winemaker on the site. It is a fantastic wine but I would note it suits someone who likes a brut not sweet sparkling.

  • I had a few of their wines in Marlborough, and they were amazing. Is there a chance you'd get any more in the range?

    • Hi

This was a cancelled Wholesale order where the stock was already in Australia hence the great price and availability of it. At this stage we don't have any more of their range. We only have limited cases due to this as well.

No worries, thanks for the reply!

Thank you for your link. I have not ever seen it for sale at this price and it would be an exceptional buy even at NZ$29. The RRP in Australia as supplied by the Distributor and not a review site is $60 a bottle. We are not able to make these claims under law unless we have written confirmation of price from the Australian Distributor. It is a lovely Cuvee and we now only have a few cases left.
