Who made all the pies? You did, you did, you fat ozBargainer!

  • How often would one have to be making pies to justify a purchase like this? More so thinking about the kitchen space it would take up. Surely just buying some pie tins and using the oven makes more sense?

This makes it easy, quick, and hard to burn them. And when you're done just wipe down and put in the cupboard. Ours gets used about once a week on average; sometimes we have pie marathons though and just leave it on the island.

We use one like this not just for "intentional pies" but for using up leftovers - just line with sheet pastry, chuck in the leftovers (eg tonight cauli and broc and seitan bake in a cheesy sauce) and you have a new meal in a few minutes. Often the leftovers taste better the next day because they've had time to soften and soak up flavours, plus having them in a pie makes it convenient to take to work or have on the run or ready while glued to the telly, plus it's a bit different from the same meal as yesterday.

        "intentional pies"

Sounds like someone needs to make a thread called: [AMA] Recovering pie addict, ask me anything.

    • Also great for non pastry foods ie quiches, chocolate lava cakes etc.

You could use the toastie maker ;) instead of bread use pastry…

  • Would this work for heating up half priced frozen round pies?

    • +1

Doubt it would cook through, it heats up from refridgerated though

  • Just got one from The good guys today with price match👍

  • My favs are apple and blueberry.

  • Had one and got rid of after using it twice. I previously had the original pie magic and worked a treat. You can comfortably make 2 pies from one sheet of pastry. However with this one. You'll be lucky to make one without having to patch some pastry from the second sheet as the pie size is wider and shallower
