  • I assume I'm reading it wrong but….."CPU w/X570 Motherboard" for $291 is the other option on this listing? - Must just be the motherboard surely?

    • +1

Yep its motherboard only - there was a deal on here and some people tried ordering it last time but received the motherboard only.

      • That's unfortunate - I got a little tingle when I saw it initially.

      • I received a $30 credit form that deal. Not the worst outcome.

      • Talk about dodgy, admitted it's a 'wrong description' in Sep 19 and still haven't fixed the listing.
Edit: lol, amazing, removed almost immediately after I posted.

  • prices are coming down again?

    • +3

AUD has comeback to what it was at the start of March would be helping. Not sure if manufacturing is back up to demand (or if that was a huge problem in the first place?).

Looking at Amazon, prices are pretty damn good when comparing with local stock (2060 cards, ryzen 5, ram etc..). Motherboard prices there are pretty ordinary mind.

  • Can I get any tax deduction if I purchase these from Amazon AU via US?

  • Good prices, but just be aware of shipping time.

I'm getting quoted 3-4 weeks to NSW.

Just FYI and may not be the case for anybody else, I only recently (2 weeks ago) got this CPU for a little more from Amazon via US, and it was delivered so fast via UPS it beat most things I get even from Melbourne where I am. 3 days. It also stated a couple of weeks initially for delivery. I'm finding Amazon are really trying to kick along their delivery times using whatever method they can. I am a Amazon Prime member.

      • Thanks for the info!

      • Im in the same conundrum, but instead with a pair of ram sticks. I purchased on amazon because it was $142 however it has an estimated delivery date of may 20 because it is shipping from Amazon US.

Are amazon US orders always shipped with UPS? or is it lucky draw. All of my parts will be coming in this week so i'll just be waiting on my ram, and im contemplating cancelling and buying on centrecom for 169 instead.

        • No not always UPS, I've had stuff arrive last leg using Fastway. Haven't had a whole lot of stuff via Amazon US so I'm not really sure

  • Good post OP.

What's peoples thoughts, is it easier to deal with Newegg or Amazon if something goes wrong? Also is the RipJaw ram good or is it just cheap?

    Cheers

    • I've found Amazon to be quite amazing on returns or refunds, they seem to be extremely helpful. What a change from eBay. I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon, using Prime, mostly because I need it as stock. I've even bought the wrong thing because of the pictures they use on their pages and they've just said ok well here's a refund anyway.. nice!
      No idea about Newegg.
