LG 75" UM69 4K UHD LED LCD AI Thinq Smart TV $1495 Pick up (Was $1895) at Harvey Norman & Joyce Mayne

51

I've been keeping an eye on a few 75" UHD TV models recently and noticed this one had a $400 price drop today. You'll need to check if your local stores have stock. I did find a few stores with stock, but none close to me, sadly.

Edit: and same price at JB Hifi: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lg-75um6970ptb-um69-serie…

Edit 2: And $1499 at TGG: https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/lg-75-inches-um6970-4k-uhd-sm…

Ive negged all deals for this tv model, just getting ripped off at this price, its a down grade from the um7600, 2020 now start looking at those models for $1500+

Avoid LG 75" 75UM6970PTB LG is cheapening alot of their TV models, this is the new cheaper budget version of the um7600 which regularly sells for $1500, you lose features like magic remote, Intelligent Voice Control, AI thinkQ, doesn't work with google assistant/amazon alexa, lose some USB Video Playback Formats, no DTS Vitrual:X, also likely made from cheaper materials going by the weight

fair enough. Not going to argue.

I love that you post this every time a deal comes up with this model! You are a god amongst men, a figurative shepherd protecting his OzBargain flock!

I feel like an ass for negging, just dont want people to get ripped off

        • very infomative though. would avoid this model.

diversity of thoughts mate, practice it! Don't free pressured into being silent. Feedback good or bad is how the community function. Don't self doubt! Have confidence, live life and be happy.

          TLDR - JFDI!

@moo: If you voted for the Liberal Party you voted for a party that raided journalists who revealed it's own illegal behavior.

They were try to prevent diversity of thought that said they were illegally watching Australians and that the SAS carried out war crimes in Afghanistan.

            Just a thought!

        • @RougeWolf seeing as you know market, what you reckon is value buy at this size?

          • @bargrin: I'm no expert but I like the look of the Sony X8000G 75". But I don't want to pay $2100 for it. Hopefully a deal comes along soon.

            • @wombat81: Can’t say I would take one over the RU7100 even if they were the same price. Input lag is pretty high. The Sony’s start to get decent at the 8500 model.

              https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/samsung-ru7100-vs-so…

              • @AaronR: Yeah I've read that comparison. They seem pretty comparable to me. Problem is that no one seems to have the Samsungs at the moment anyway. So for decent 75" UHD TVs that are actually available, the LG is rubbish, according to RogueWolf, the TCL has major issues with gaming consoles, the Hisense isn't worth the money, Sammy's are OOS everywhere within 1000km of me. Panasonic aren't selling in Australia anymore. That really only leaves the Sony.

Hopefully that situation will improve, but at the moment, Sony is the only real option.

          • @bargrin: Also interested in recommendations in the 75" size, at this kind of budget.

          • @bargrin: no expert on tv's, been no good deals for a while need to wait for 2020 deals to appear, but last 2019 deals you would get lg um7600 or samsung ru7100 which are only base models for around $1200-1500 range, then noticed lg released this downgrade when compared specs to um7600 on lg site, but was being sold around same price as previous um7600/ru7100 deals, easy to miss it if you dont look into it

            lg compare um7600 vs um69

        • Don't. How else will people know? It takes pedantic and critical people to make sure we get good value for money.

I've read LG LCDs are all pretty lacking.

    • Well according to rtings he's probably right its not great

      https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/um6900

    • that sounds horrible, can you link me the 75in 7600u model for 1500 like you mentioned?

    • yep, pretty much all LG and Samsung TVs "deals" in 2020 should come with this disclaimer, that every product has moved down one tier in quality and features but not on price.

      • im waiting on a ru8000 65 inch deal to get to $1000 either that or an unbeatable tcl hisense deal in that price range.

  • how does it compare to samsung 75ru7100 which is around the same price

    • The series 7 Samsung seems pretty difficult to get hold of, for starters. I've been keeping an eye on it too.

      • i have booked one in jbhifi yesterday. was planning to go pay this arvo. got it for 1400 delivered

        • My local JB wouldn't budge from the list price ($1695 + delivery) on a 75ru7100 via phone. Was hoping to order remotely and get it delivered as I can't really get into a store right now to try for a deal.

          • @AaronR: Well i can share the invoice if that helps you, but i rang a few of the jbhifis until i found one, who agreed.

      • this is what we get for waiting after December Christmas time like everyone said they would go down further..

Posted this previously bit got little attention, just an FYI really…

Samsung have started embedding adverts into the GUI, bloody annoying and from all the research I’ve read, you cannot turn it off. There are some adblocker work arounds you can employ at router level, but this should not be necessary in the first place.

I have removed all network functionality from mine and use a Vodafone TV box for all the smarts, this is the last Samsung product I will ever own!!

        • +1

i got a vodaphone tv too so in that aspect i should be good, it sounds absolutely trash to include forced advertising in their stupid os

  • I quite like my cheapo Hisense except for the OS which doesnt bother me as I use an external media box

  • +1

hows this compared to the LG 65UM7400? Is the 65UM7400 also trash? i seen one available for 930 (which i know is not the cheapest it has been).
