  • Sounds like BBQ cleaner/degreaser?
    TASTING NOTES
This is a brightly coloured wine with lively, spicy plum and cherries on the bouquet, a rich and well rounded palate with an attractive, lingering finish. Kicking Back and enjoying this wine at a BBQ or Pasta and Pizza nights together with family and friends.

I ONCE PURCHASED A SPARKLING SHIRAZ WHERE THE BUBBLES HAD MORE FLAVOR THAN THE WINE. THIS WINE WAS MUCH THE SAME BUT WITHOUT THE BUBBLES. IF YOU WANT TO GIVE FEEDBACK TO THE WINE MAKER , TELL HIM TO STAND CLOSER TO THE VAT WHEN HE IS PUTTING THE GRAPES IN ……………..

      Now that is funny.

It sounds like this wine was marketed for the China market where they like a lighter reds. I tasted a red that won medals in the China comps. It was like weak cordial but they enjoy it.

Saying that, it is a Barossa red, it can't be that bad. 2017 wasn't a bad year from memory. I am going through a dozen 2017's at the moment and its quite a good year.

      • By all means, hey its wine and probably better than the stuff you could get at the bottleshop for $5 a bottle.

I clicked on the link and saw that review, and decided i would not buy.

The Geoff Hardy Deal from a week or 2 ago was some great wine and was roughly the same price i think.

There are 400 million wine awards in China, wineries pay to enter so it's pretty hard not to win something.

Wine awards are a rubbish way to judge a wine (unless it's the Jimmy Watson), it's just a scam to pay a made up award to put pretty logos on the label.

Whenever the previous vintage is quoted as the review, that is a sign to steer clear.
