R5-3500X Gaming PCs [RGB Mesh Case]: RX 580 $848 / RX 5700 $1148 + Delivery @ TechFast

3500X-580-MAY3500X-5700-MAY

I was following up with Luke to get us some new deals & Here it is :)

TechFast are finally launching the new Leaper Air Mini case with mesh front and RGB fans and Luke says designed based on OzBargain community feedback for small form factor and mesh front/better airflow. Specs for the case are here

These RX 580s are now from MSI, Gigabyte and Sapphire not Biostar, so the price is comparatively more as Biostar cards were very cheap, plus market prices are right up across the board. RX 5700 have been the MSI Mech.

Their Shipping times page says estimated shipping times are on or just over 14 business days, and I confirmed with Luke that their biggest order spike is over so times are improving. He also said they've increased email customer service staff and are sending order updates instead of no word, again based on OzB feedback.

Enjoy :)

      • Thank you for your reply,

I have emailed both [email protected] and [email protected] atleast 4 times. I am not sure why my emails might not be getting through I never have issues with people not receiving my emails.

        • Woah nup, definitely not getting. Can you enable Pls or post the 4 digits after #Techfast in your order number?

          • @luketechfast: Hi Luke,

It's Order #TECHFAST6713, I will also resend the emails from my other email account to see if that helps.

            Cheers

      • Hello Luke, can you please tell me which gtx 1660 do you specifically get like msi, evga and other from techfast.
        Thanks

4-6 weeks is the average time to get these PCs built and delivered. They don't hide it, it's everyone online so your expectations should be set.

If you can't handle the wait then buy from somewhere else.

Personally I knew the deal was worth the wait so I paid $1350 for a PC that Scorptec are selling for $2600 so if waiting 6 weeks is the price to pay for the huge discount then so be it. Love my system.

If you want it super quick pay double and buy a Dell instead of whining.

    • What deal was worth it?

      • +2

2070 Super + Ryzen 5 3500X + B450 + 1TB SSD + 16GB Ram etc. Made some upgrades and there was a long delay because the GPU was out of stock but Luke hooked me up with a RAM upgrade which was good so it was worth the wait.

  • +1

Any possibility of something around the $650 mark? Understand these are pretty decent deals but just ever so slightly above my threshold.

    • Nothing with a dedicated GPU is possible woth current supplier pricing and stock availability sorry!

  • -1

DO NOT BUY,test fast not worth it, you might as well buy it somewhere else i bought one of the my desktop last year from there for a budget gaming rig, psu blew up and did not work, and i just parted the pc and sold the rest away and bought another pc elsewhere and it took around 2 month for the pc to get delived to me after i sent multiple emails to them, took them a few business days each time to reply to me email. additionally my mate tried again buying a 2k pc from them 2 months ago, also arrived 2 months later and he paid for windows, but they did not forget to install windows in the pc.(he emailed them and they refunded him). overall in my opinion i would not shop with these guys as it takes a long time to get your product, as well as they use cheap ram and psu(no brands) hence the price is so cheap,

    • +3

It is fairly well known that one of the reasons it's so cheap is because of the no name brands/not well known brands. If you didn't like this why did you buy it? Or did you just not do enough research and then get buyers remorse?

Sucks about the PSU but why didn't you just claim it under warranty or buy a new one? Why does one failed part force you to part out and sell the whole PC?

      • -1

pc was just over a year old from the date, i already had multiple problems with the PC such as the installed windows, i knew it was cheap chinese psu and ram but i wanted to give it a go as i was on a tight budget last year, they offered for me to send it back to them at my expense and they could "take a look at it" but i had some money saved up so i just decided to buy a whole new pc, lessened learned dont by from tech fast and dont cheap out on the PSU

        • +1

Just because they say their warranty is 1 year, that doesn't override Australian Consumer Law (ACL). A computer is expected to last longer than 1 year so under ACL TechFast are still liable for fixing the computer.

          • @Trance N Dance: A quality computer is expected to last longer than 1 year.

A cheap (bargain!) computer is not.

        • So you could pay $80 to fix it but you decided to buy a whole new PC because you had more money. You mention many issues but only reference Windows not being installed. That isn't hard to do.

          • @cosmokram3r: well if u want to know the issues i had with the pc, firstly windows was not installed correctly, and was boot looping within 3 weeks, i had to reset it myself, they had no wire management(probably due to high demand of pc did not have enough time).

            • @alexae86: Poor cable management as the requirement to buy a whole new computer. Now I've heard it all.

            • @alexae86: You are making no sense at all buddy. Just sounds like a poor smear campaign against TechFast because you didn't get your way.

    • +2

Why would you part a whole PC for one relatively cheap part failing? Surely you would seek warranty on the PSU or just get another one? And as for your mate, if he didn't get windows with it and they refunded him the cost of the license, what is the issue?

      • +1

It makes no sense. The guy is just on a mission to smear the company's name.

    • +1

A cheap PC failing just outside the 1 year (11 month) warranty period?

Who could have predicted that?!! It's not like that's Techfast's business model

  • Is it possible you can buy these techfast builds without the GPU at a lower price, in case we already have a GPU?

  • Hello guys, i am keen to buy a PC but i've been a console player for years. I have a 100hz 1440p 32inch ultrawide display, so i'd like to play games to get the most of it. I play RPG games mostly, such as rdr2, witcher3, witcher3, sometimes COD or other fps games. I upgraded upon rx 580 deal with these:

    Processor : AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Processor
Motherboard : AMD B450M Motherboard - (Brands May Vary)
Graphics Card : AMD Radeon RX 580 8GB Graphics Card
    Memory : 16GB DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB)
Solid State Drive : 1TB m.2 NVME SSD [Requires Minimum B350/B360 Motherboard]
Power Supply : 750W 80+ Gold Power Supply

and it ends up $1483, do you think this has a good value for what i need? I really appreciate your opinion!

    • Okay.. maybe i shouldnt even ask. Clearly that money would get those https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/525639

    • Yeah $1483 is too much for that setup. You can almost get their 2070s build with that money

    • +2

An RX 580 won't be remotely enough for 1440p ultrawide in the games you mentioned at a reasonable quality/frame rate. You'll want to aim for something like a RX 5700/5700XT or RTX 2060 Super/2070 Super.

The second build on the page for $1148 will get the job done. The parts probably aren't the best quality either but hey it all comes with warranty…

If you're willing to build it yourself (or have a mate to help you), you can make a pretty sweet build for $1500. Let me know if so and I'll draw up a parts list and post it here.

      • Hey bro, thanks for replying. The only reason i would choose techfast it's good value, if you think building one myself will be even better. I'd definitely love to try it. I checked out a youtube video, it doesnt seem to be too difficult? as long as parts are compatible.. Would you please draw up a list? Really appreciate that

        • Just make sure you expect upto 1 month delivery from ordering from TF

          • +1

@Jackkkkkk: That's true… probably gonna build it myself for the first time. I feel like as a software engineer myself…i should at least do it for once…

            • @justAguyHere: Yes, it's a good hobby whilst locked down or just at home. Good learning curve also. Plenty of Youtube videos incase you missed any steps. Even if you took 1 week to build it, it's still quicker than Techfast Lol

        • Yeah heaps of youtube tutorials which simplify the process.

Check out Rauland's post here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/535618#comment-8670737

Specifically this build he has put together: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/rauland/saved/VNvcTW

          Optional upgrades:
          - RX 5700 —> 5700 XT / RTX 2070 Super (or flash a 5700xt bios onto the 5700). Or pay a bit more for a better model Rx 5700 for better thermals/less noise
          - Ryzen 5 1600 AF —> Ryzen 5 3600 (note prioritise the above GPU upgrades if you have to choose between CPU or GPU)
          - Better case + modular PSU which will make first time building/cabling a bit easier

reddit.com/r/buildapc is also a great sub to post on for more guidance. Would recommend you check that out.

  • Can someone who has purchased from TechFast confirm the ABN that appears on your invoice?

    • Yes, it does. Previously customers received a packing slip and could request a tax invoice. With our new system you will receive a full tax invoice in the accessories box.

      • So what is the ABN?

It doesn't appear on your website unlike practically every other retailer out there.

Your domain ACN has no ABN registered.

TECHFAST business name has a different ABN registered in another state.

TECHFAST Asia Pacific ABN is different.

Your personal ABN is different again.

Peeps trying to claim GST will want to know this in advance. It also demonstrates your legitimacy.

        • This is our ABN: 86 603 436 808. I have no idea what any of the other things you're looking up are.

People are more inclined and motivated to make the effort to write about negative experiences rather than the positive ones.

I bought a 3500X and GTX1070 deal back in March. It shipped towards the end of their declared window, well packaged and good cable management in the build. As a full time working professional who is time poor, I no longer have the ability to independently research and select every aspect of the build like I did as a teenager. As many point out, these prices are typically cheaper than what parts can be obtained for independently and don't factor in labour costs and business overheads.

I'd imagine Techfast pump out these computers for low margin and rely on quantity as their business model. Unless your computer is broken, I can't see why people are in such a rush to get a replacement if it is not a matter of life and death. Sure, I have seen instances where people have reported build completions outside of their declared window but occasionally this can be to supply chain issues outside of the businesses control. This happens even with large technology companies like Apple or Nintendo.

Whilst a lot of Ozbargainers are good people, I do see some who expect the world but want to pay peanuts. Remember these businesses need to stay solvent and as someone who worked in retail, difficult customers can really take a toll on your mental health.

At the current time we need to be more understanding and considerate of one another and be glad that the company maintains a presence on this website. Many companies take the easy road and choose not to.

    Peace and love.

    • Word.

  • Looking at helping my cousin with a build for video editing, so don't really need the graphics card. Would the 3500X be on par with the 2600? I know there were IPC improvements etc but figured the loss of threads would be more of a hit for editing. Otherwise, could buy this system and then sell the GPU after.

  • Would the RX 580 be able to run Doom Eternal?

      Yes mate, easily. It's well-optimised.
