    Another SIM for the stash

  • Edited now The bum is too tight

  • How strict is the 30 days?

My plan expecting in 37 days

    • +2

Very. It's a Catch requirement, not Cashrewards. Thanks.

    • +2

Buy it after 6pm on Friday. Your welcome letter will be dated 11th, to stretch some days.

      • I thought about that, but wouldn't the purchase date be the second I click submit?

        • For the sake of a few days to a week, just port early and have some overlap to get your $5 cashback, pretty cheap either way.

Hi Shopback, @gotyourback, where are you?

  • +1

Thank you TA. You are a legend. Can't understand how this could be sustainable but will come along for the ride while it lasts.

Catch is owned by Wesfarmers. They have deep pockets.

Can you wait for 2-3 months before activating it?

Service must be activated within 30 days of purchase.

Price you pay to play the game.

        • Not an issue. Received today.

  • Cheers TA

  • +2

They must get alot people who forget to cancel auto renew to keep offering these, or people stay on.

  • +1

Hi TA. I trust you are keeping safe. Can you please confirm if this is valid if I port my number ?. The below condition is a bit confusing

Cashback is eligible on new services only (ie. new mobile number).

    • +1

If you are porting in from another provider. Then its a new service.

  • Can anyone please confirm if there is any credit check.
I don't want too many records in my file.

    • Don't think so. Have used multiple names without being checked.

      • Why would there be a credit check, it's prepaid and no pay no play lol.

  • +2

Would I still be eligible for this cashback if I bought one in the last cashback offer?

    • +4

      Yep! Go for it :)

      • +1

        Great, thank you so much!

  • +1

Thank you, sounds like a good deal. My last one was not tracked. Waiting a week since the purchase now in order to start the claim process with your CS team.

    • +1

CC is one of the best tracking stores we have. I can’t comment as to why it may not have worked for you as I’m not sure how you transacted. My suggestion is to use the Cashrewards mobile app to purchase and use 4G. This eliminates plugin issues on desktop browsers and any potential firewall/router/wifi issues with your network. Just FYI. Thanks.

      • +2

And that's why I much rather prefer the coded ones rather than the cashback ones. Don't really have any tracking issues normally, but I mostly use other cashback sites nowdays (sorry). Thanks for the advice.

      • App was working very slowly with lag and judder today. On fast Android.

    • +1

Same for me Tetiana. Mine wasn't track so waiting 7 days to make a claim. This is the second time it's happened to me with Catch.
I'm using the Firefox Cashrewards addon. :-|

  • +1

    Thanks TA.

  • Darn the 30 days activation requirement. Great deal though.

  • Only one sim card or can we do this a few times?

    • Provided you meet the offer terms, all good with CR :)

  • In case anyone is already on CatchConnect and wants to do the port-out-then-back-in dance, I just did that a couple of days ago and it went surprisingly smoothly.

    This is what I did:
    1. Before signing up to new CC plan, make sure to cancel auto-recharge on your existing CC plan.
    2. Change the email in your existing CC plan. If you're using gmail, you can change it to e.g. <username>[email protected] - i.e. the bit after the + sign can be anything you want.
    3. Order new CC service.

Then, when the existing CC plan expired:
    4. Buy $2 telstra sim.
    5. Port out from CC to Telstra - I did this about 10pm at night, and it went through in about 15 minutes. My CC plan had just expired about a day before, but it still ported out fine. I used whatever the telstra prepaid option was that did't require me to pay anything.
    6. I waited until the next morning, then activated new CC sim. CC sends you a text with a code you need to make the port go thru. CC was active within about 30 minutes.

With all the cashrewards cashback, even accounting for the $2 sim that I'm throwing away, I think my monthly mobile cost is now averaging about $2.50 per month for the last 6 months.

    • +2

you do not need to change the email address. i did the same to my two sim mobile numbers last week, catach -port out to telstra sim and then back to catch again. I did this on weekend therefore had to wait until monday to port back to catch. In my experience, do not port in /out on weekend. Port out from telstra/boost to catch is bit frustrating however Kogan - Catch- Kogan never had problems.

      • Good to know. I think I did the email change as a precautionary measure to make sure there was no previous account linked to my email to make sure cashback wasn't negated for something trivial like that.

        • Oh so if I had Catch in the past (6 months back or so and now with different provider), I can still get onto this offer and get cash back?

          • +1

@bajirao: If you read the cashback terms, seems so (even without changing email like I did).

When you activate, it just has to be for a service that is not currently active on catch - so if you've ported out to another provider, you should be fine.

    • Always good idea to buy some spare $2 Sims when there offered for free from there website,. I.e. Optus and Telstra 👍🤪

A legit way of getting people's real details. by law you have to provide true name-sur name-phone no. to telephone companies. For 10c they get 100% accurate, up to date details. I say it's a bargain for them not Ozbargainers.

    • Applies to every business you sign up with online. You don't have to.

  • Unfortunately this offer is no longer available. Check out our current plans

    • +1

      Please refresh. It's definitely available.

      • +1

Ah cool - yeah that went through - thanks Rep

    • +1

Can confirm it still works, I just bought one and it tracked too.

  • +1

Might grab another one. Thanks heaps.

  • +1

Has anyone tried switching between this and Kogan Mobile continuously throughout the year to save money? Talking about those 3 months plan

    • +4

Why not? Kogan <=> Catch usually takes only 5-10 mins.

      • What great offers have Kogan provided in the past?

    • +2

That's exactly what I do. I made a post on here detailing the breakdown but it'll take too long for me to find it.

But I effectively pay ~$2-3 per month for more data than I'll ever need + unltd calls/texts by jumping between a combination of kogan and catch new customer offers and the odd 100% cashback deals which pop up a few times a year.

Have started to try convincing friends/family that they can save literally hundreds per year (thousands for some) if they're willing to take out the 10minutes needed every few months to manage this sort of scheme.

A friend of mine was spending $105 pm on a 24m contract for the S10+. Convinced them to pay out the ETC to cancel the contract a year early (negotiated it down to ~$400). They've now gone from $105 per month to now less than $50 per year, which means even after paying out the contract early they still will save almost $1k over the next 12 months…

      • +1

Well done. That’s a solid plan to follow. Thanks!

    • +1

yes, two numbers 3 month on catch and rest 3 months on kogan, been doing for years now, at times i do switch to amaysim too. Same account and email , no troubles at all. CR also tracked

  • +3

Yes! Yes! Yes! :-)! Thanks TA! The next Huge Success would be $15 cashback on the $14.90/90D/60Gb. I would also like to applaud CashRewards on it tracking speed of seconds in the previous deal! Thank you TA and please forward our thanks to your IT Dept!

  • Anyone else still haven't got the cashback from the last one. It's been ages

    • +1

Please see here. Heaps of comments in the last post about success and speed of tracking. Cheers.

    • I had one of my first purchases through CR declined after 3 months of waiting. Turns out having the honey browser extension installed (despite not clicking/activating it for the purchase) was enough to cause it to be declined.

I've since tried another purchase 4 days ago and it should come through.

      • +2

Do yourself a favour and uninstall Honey if you want your cashback transactions to be successful. See my comment here.

        • +1

Used my phone for CR this time so there no should be no reason for it to be declined :)

  • Catch Connect ask you to tick a box if you have no more than 4 active prepaid services, so I did.

I have 4 active sims already with CC and purchasing this one will be number 5 ( not to mention at least 10 other various prepaid active sims I have with various carriers ), but the sale went through fine and amount tracked few minutes after.

Is there a way to cancel old unused active numbers? Had a look but did not find.

Let's see if I get the money in the end after activating the sim, will grab another now haha.

Oops, my 2nd order for my 6th active sim service failed, they stated I already have 5 now, oh well lol.

    • +1

I solved the 5 limit by signing up another catch connect account, now I have bought 10 of these SIM plans still using the same cash rewards account for both catch accounts, just remember when your in the cash rewards account to sign out of the current catch connect account your using, yes you get to sign up with the next catch connect account after you have purchased again another one sim plan and youll also be signed in with that account, enjoy 🤪🙄😬🤑👍

      • Thanks for the helpful tips. Was a bit tired last night and went to sleep early, so missed your comment but will keep in mind for next time .

When signing up for second Catch C. account, do you use same name but different email? Same/different credit card?

Is there any way to Cancel old unused numbers/services? How long do numbers/services stay active after not re-charging? Looks to be at least 6 months.

  • Can someone answer this so if I don't activate any of these catch connect Sims within 30 days do I loose out on cash rewards $5 cash back, asking as I'm thinking if I should bother purchasing another 5? Well technically there for free if the cash back happens

    • +1

Yes, cashback will be declined by Catch Connect if you don’t:

Service must be activated within 30 days of purchase.

      • If I had Catch Connect service in the past and now with another provider, can I port back into Catch Connect and still be eligible for cash back?

  • +1

Someone backup me here yes it's considered as a new number so new service, why people here collect $2 Telstra or Optus SIM packs for that purpose

    • +2

If someone is already with Catch Connect and they want to avail this offer (and keep their number), they need to become a "new customer". They do this by porting to another provider (hence the $2 sims). Then they port back to Catch Connect as new customers.

      • +1

Correct. And plan ahead for this scenario by grabbing regular offers for Free Sim

Delivered to your door such as below every few months or so.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/525841

        • I read on here a few times that when you port out to these $2 sims you have to stay there for a month?
          is this correct?

          • +1

@Samsungnote10: No, not with most Telcos.

Only the Telcos ( looking at you Kogan Mobile lol ) that require you to be away from their

network with same number/account ask you to wait 30 days after you have ported out.

I have not done this with Catch C., but from what I read hear, you can just port out and back in back to back instantly.

            • +1

@ozhunter68: awesome, that makes a lot of sense,
so if you were doing kogsnd 30day sim over and over again hypothetically, then you couldnt do it as you , would need to be away from kogan network

              • @Samsungnote10: Correct. Many people like myself use the Kogan XL ( now 40gb/30 days ) @ $0-$4.90 just to activate a new number/service ( up to 5 per month using same credit card ) mainly for cheap data.

If you want to port to and fro to/from Kogan, most people go for one of those 3 months 20gb/30 days for $14.90 from both Kogan as well as Catch Connect, unless your happy to have a few days gap in between the 28/30 day deals.

                • +1

@ozhunter68: im going to try the 90 day kogan to 90 day catch from next week,
im just coming off my 12 months from catch,

cant believe it took me this long to see it!
