"I received this email this morning on my rarely-used eBay account."

ofc you did, they only ever target those who don't use ebay much.

    Targeted, and dupe

    • I've done a search prior to posting and did not find any duplicates. Could you provide a link please? Happy to notify mods if that is the case.

Didn't get it (yet again, not surprised). I want to neg vote feeBay.

  • +6

    I haven't had a free fvf for almost a year now….

    So much for Plus

    • +3

same here, just sold a few things, fees are massive, won't be bothering with plus again, it should reduce FVF a lot.

      • +3

They suggested they'd get more offers on plus. Quite the opposite.

just jumped on live chat and asked if I was eligible for any promos. The agent gave me $200 in credit, so I cannot complain about that.

    • -1

      Ahuh.

    • +2

Shame, the agent gave me a Unicorn. I thought that was fairly generous.

    • Agent said to me: no FVF waiver for you, come back 1 year.

      • -1

Not sure why neg votes. Someone below just benefited.

        • +2

Dunno, it's hard to figure out how OZBers vote on comments. Not a big deal anyway. So many more important things to worry about than meaningless OZB neg votes.

  • +1

Agent said to me, 1 time offer of 5 FVF, which is better than nothing (although most higher value items already sold, so not all good news! better than nothing though, all goes to offsetting ebay plus!)

    • Agent told me he could manually refund fees on 2 items after they sold if I got back in contact once they sold but who can be bothered with that, I just cancelled eBay plus instead

  • +3

Fees are ridiculous on eBay, I find that it's better to sell on Marketplace. Once you take into account all final value and PayPal fees.

  • +1

10.9%, plus 10.9% of postage (which is ALWAYS more than the cost of the stamp), $8.95 to post a game!. PLUS 2.6% paypal unavoidable as well. Once you add all the fees and costs together it's really closer to 20% of the price.

  • I just create new accounts to sell things stuffed if im paying 10% FVF.
They never refund a cancelled postage label either. Had 2 going on for ages. They end up offering a voucher….

    • I managed to get 2 of those refunded (it took 25 days though!) and they 'credited' the account, but fortunately (or not!) i'd sold stuff that meant it offset the huge fees they charge. I now never use their checkout, only the app where it's two button presses and then you enter your own tracking = no auto charging! not very user friendly for people selling, more for businesses now really it seems, I used to sell a ton of stuff but now marketplace/gumtree is just easier. I think eBay's mission is very different to their start up, so a shame really.

      • Whats the app where its 2 button presses?
Im all for not being auto charged.

Yeah ive only recently started selling stuff on ebay in the lasy year or two and it was ok to start but went downhill very fast. Along with the loss of storewide %off and buying giftcards for 10-18%off and dont get me started on this plus scam.

  • Has anyone had a problem finding there listed item on ebay by searching it up?
I cant find my item that i listed by searching on ebay, can only find by using item number, like as if

    ebay.com.au/itm/itemnumber

    Anyone please help

  • Just talked to eBay they said listing takes time for indexing so doesnt get visible on search straight away
