    Nice one. Thank you

  • I have decided which one I want to get between the GT and the GT2. How does this compare to the GT for $140? For $80 more, what are we getting over the GT model?

    • GT2 can take calls, GT can't. GT2 has longer battery life.

Yep, it can take bluetooth calls. I have the GT, great watch, 7-10 days of battery life. Think I will upgrade.

        • My comment on this needs to be clarified, the 42mm does not have bluetooth calls.

Double battery life, Bluetooth calling, lets you play music without a phone. Tbh the battery alone would be worth it to me

Does the 42mm have built-in microphone and speakers? A number of sites say "No"

        • You are right, website was a bit misleading

I've got the original GT model. It's good and the battery lasts 20+ days. I find it to be the best looking smart watch for the price point (with a different band). Other than that, it doesn't sync properly (or at all) to my phone so I don't get notifications. Maybe the GT2 will be better.
This looks just like a Galaxy Active 2. I'd get that instead for an extra $100.

good deal. Can you get 3rd party apps like spotify etc on it?

  • Does anyone know the differences between the GT2 Classic vs GT2 Sports? Struggling to find a good comparison. Thank you.

looking at the GT2 46mm one but it seems it has never been on sale.

  • OK HN website is misleading. GT2 42mm version has 1 week battery life and doesn't support bluetooth phone calls.
    https://consumer.huawei.com/au/wearables/watch-gt2/specs/

    • The Bluetooth calling function only supported in Huawei Watch GT 2 46mm version. Thanks to the new Kirin A1 chip supports BT/BLE dual-mode Bluetooth 5.1 standard, which can realize ultra-high speed Bluetooth data transmission, so, the 46mm version can keep a 150m Bluetooth call. Further more, because the 42mm version lack of the speaker and microphone, do not support music play and can not storage music file. But the 42mm version can do a control control when keep connected with your phone.

  • I'm new to the whole smartwatch game since I've always preferred classic analogue watches but I've been eyeing the Samsung Galaxy watch active 2
How does this compare to the watch active 2

  • Gravel beige? Right up there with most exciting colours ever ;)

Comparison between Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 44mm vs Huawei GT2 42mm:
-. Active2 able to pick up phone call where GT2 can't, only 46mm version able to do so.
-. Active2 support NFC payment through SamsungPay where GT2 NFC only for Chinese market.
-. Active2 have touch sensitive bezel where GT2 doesn't, this is really handy (I personally use this feature a lot on mine).
-. GT2 42mm have 1.2 inches screen compare to 1.4 inches screen to Active2 44m (0.2 inches is significant different on smartwatch).
    -. GT2 doesn't have loudspeaker but Active2 does.
    -. GT2 doesn't have Wi-Fi connectivity but Active2 does.
    -. GT2 doesn't have wireless charging but Active2 does.
    -. Active2 have super-amoled screen where GT2 only amoled.

    Downside of Active2 44mm compare to Huawei GT2 42mm:
-. GT2 have longer battery life compare to Active2, 7+ days vs 3-4 days.
    -. GT2 more lightweight compare to Active2, 29g vs 44g
    -. GT2 have more ram compare to Active2, 2GB vs 1.5GB

Personally before I purchase my Active2, I was interested on GT2. After some research, I found that GT2 is more like "sport smartwatch" where some of smartwatch function is compromise for longer battery life. There's cheaper alternative with similar function to GT2 (e.g. Amazfit GTS or GTR). Active2 has all the smartwatch function intend to have with no compromise, only downside is the battery life.
