  • Thanks OP, tempted to buy a few gift cards, anyone have experience converting the gift card to use online at a retailer, was it a smooth process?

    • What do you mean by converting it? Only some retails allow it to be used online and it looks like it's just a pre-paid mastercard with a restriction on the merchants that can use it.

      • I'm looking at buying the HER gift card which has some online retailers, so I was thinking of converting it. From their website you swap TCN gift card for a gift card of the retailer of your choice. I was wondering whether anyone has experience in doing this?

        • Might be worth reading the comments of previous 'The Card Network Deals'

          This Comment for Example

          • @RichardL: Thanks I've read all the comments, it's quite mixed but I'm willing to give it a go.

@imissbeans: Bought a digital gift card, filled out a form selecting the type of retailer gift card I'd like to convert it to (instore or online) and selected the retailer. Received an egift card for the retailer instantly. Checked balance on retailer's website and all good.

    • Definitely NOT a smooth process. Do not attempt to convert these for online use is my advice. And I'd go further and clearly state DO NOT buy these at all.

    • terrible me. I am still disputing them. TCN IS HORRIBLE

      • I only purchased a card which I converted into the stores egift card for online use (ie not a digital MasterCard). I should be able to do split payment online for amounts exceeding the gift card. Though, based on these comments I will avoid converting to any brand that converts to a digital mastercard, as that seems to be the thing causing the issues especially as you can't do split payment online.

Thanks op, although people have to be careful that a lot of these cards can only be used instore only (Adidas, Nike, Hype dc)

  • Tried baby card. It is quite fast. It gave me an option for online / in-store redemption. Eventually turned out to be a pre-paid mastercard which I assume I can use at either but will try and see how it goes.

  • Dont forget to stack with 4.2% cashback at shopback

  • I hope people have seen the previous warnings about this range of card. I'll never purchase any of them again.

    • I managed to convert into the retailer's egift card tonight. It was pretty smooth process, however I haven't spent the egift card yet. Did you manage to get it working in the end?

      • Yep, I did. Bought stuff that I had to with ease.

  • i cant say i shop ever at any of the stores but im considering buying a kids card so i can always get a toy for the kids or at use at h&m for the wife. if i choose a digital card can i use it instore too or will it be only online use? if its a prepaid virtual master card issued has anyone tried using it at another store thats not listed ie buying a woolies e card online or at ebay etc.?
