First post. Unless I'm missing something, I just stumbled across these for $279. Could try an OW price match?

edit: OW won't price match as the part number (MWP22ZAA) isn't clearly listed on the dicksmith website

Minchinbury officeworks have 10 in stock and happy to price match $275.49 8/5/20 17:07pm

edit: To those saying "Thanks OP!", a HUGE thank you to this community that I have been a part of for about a decade! I am on ozbargain every day and I am SO happy that my first post made so many people happy! You guys are amazing.

edit: I called the store I got the price match from (Minchinbury). They said there has been no "flagging from head office" or angry recourse from management but the price has been changed on DS and so no more matches. She was happy to do it.     Lucky I still bought 1 from Officeworks with price match

    mine was cancelled as well, at least some people got the Officeworks price beat and im happy for you but sad I missed out!
    also didn't get an email for cancellation … they truly put ick in Dick Smith

          Show them to OW and they have no reason to not price match. I assume?

          The chance of it working tomorrow (OW stores are now closed) is very low.

          Generally, if the staff is willing, the staff could access the original receipt and that could be enough to convince the manager to approve it. It is really the last resort. However, stores can now easily state it is out of stock so they don't need to price match anymore.

            @netsurfer: I tried it this afternoon with both dick smith and invoice. They refused both for same reason. They only price match with same part number. With the receipt, they said they will need to check the reason of price match. If the reason is invalid but just some stores being more relax, they still won’t do it even with invoice.

              @fan8956: Invoice matching really needs a staff really willing to help you. In most situations, when requesting invoice matching, the staff often wants to access the original invoice to have a look at all the details. As I mentioned in my comment further down, most OZBers provide the top half of the receipt (as the bottom half has the payment details which most people are unwilling to share). However, the receipt number is also at the bottom of the receipt and without that, it gives some staff an easy excuse not to price match.

              I tried invoice/receipt matching a couple years ago (only a copy of the top half). The staff refused quoting she cannot access the invoice without the number. She basically suggested that invoice could have been photoshop'ed.

              @Dexdexter: Some OW staff will nitpick on that type of receipts (top half only). Without the actual receipt number, the staff cannot access the actual receipt to look at the details.

        Receipt doesnt work, I try to price match ow punchbowl,spoke to scummy guy,flat out refuse to price match.

      Same here - thought I’d try my luck but ohh well… was going to price match office works (I actually called but then hung up) deciding that it’s not worth the hassle.

      I’m still happy (got the killer deals on iPads and an iPhone XS in the past week) and this would have been the icing on the cake!

      They had no problem taking the money instantly, bastards. I sent a support message on my order telling them I did NOT request a refund and I want to go through with the transaction they took my money for. Doubt it'll stick though.

    Didn't take part in this one but interesting to see how Kogan handle it compared to the recent Good guys price error and of course the famous Bunnings one. At best I would expect Kogan to do something like a $5 off min $200 voucher or something similar.

    Interest to hear if anyone ends up receiving one from Dick, or a credit voucher. Now they have whole bunch of people's details in their marketing database for free, beats having to pay third-party database for sure :-p
    Also a lesson for OW. A lot of stores advertise their lowest prices only to lose sales because of OW's price beat policy. It's just not fair to them taking the discount initiative and still losing sales. OW should put in their lowest prices at the start rather than just reacting to other stores' prices.

      I don't think O/W will honour a price match now using someone else's transaction number if the competitor's price is no longer the same.
      It would have certainly been more helpful for many people, if you posted these on Friday.

        I went to 3 OW none of which would price match a screenshot, especially from dick Smith. 2 stores even showed me a list of stores they refuse to price match (dick Smith was written on with pen on both, though they were well aware of Kogan now owning them and was printed on the form)

        Showed receipt to all 3 OW stores and they would only price match/beat if they can look up the evidence on their own computer.

        Managed to get them to price beat Rosmancomputers that had it for $351

    Anyone got their refund yet? They took my money out on the Tuesday after the Friday they cancelled the order and sent me into overdraft. But still haven't given me my money back. If you're wondering why 'entitled ozbargainers' are angry with Dick Smith for this, there ya go.

        I ended up buying a pair from somewhere else so when they took my money on Tuesday for an order that cancelled on the previous Friday my account was $60 short.
