    Answer is yes if you spend lots of time encoding video, zipping fules or otherwise using heavilly multi threaded programs.

    If not then wait at least for the next gen AMD processors which might turn up around Sept.

    I have a 2500K and am waiting for the generation after that so I can hopefully skip buying DDR 4 ram entirely (it will use DDR 5)

    My pc does everything I want it to just fine and if I'm waiting a few extra seconds here and there I really don't care. I know heaps of people who have upgraded their sandy bridge PCs and couldn't notice any difference in day to day use.
