Slightly more expensive than previous deal (already sold out) but, this one comes with 2 years warranty. I think it’s worth it for 20 bucks.

the i3 should take over atom market with lower prices, I would rather they strip it down to bare minimum hardware without the dvd drive, reduce the weight and screen size to around 13-14

The deal is on but am bit concerned with the brand name "Acer", In the past I have heard a lot of complains from friends (complains like it dies soon after warranty) can this name be trusted?
My last cheap acer fell apart pretty fast (but it wasn't like we could have afforded a better one at the time anyway - obviously better than no laptop at all).
looks like the $399 model comes with only 1 year warranty.
be lucky to get any small computer shop to do really add much value for "warranty"…

Thanks OP. Went to officeworks and they price matched the 4GB model less 5%. Only 1 yr manufacturer warranty thou.
So you saved $439 X 5% = $21.95…… ummm, I would rather have the one year additional warranty in this case. But anyways, YMMV.
I figured OW had a better return policy. Also I have ext warranty on my credit card for an extra 2 years anyway. Never had to use it but good to know it's there.

We have similar return policy. Extended warranty from credit card works differently than manufacturer warranty, usually would be longer time required verification/quotation for repair/approval/etc and in some policy you will have to pay excess.
Acer onsite return and pickup warranty, you just need to call them, provides the invoice no and they will come and organise the pickup and return it after done.
What is the actual model of this laptop? 'Acer i5' doesnt mean anything.
It means more than 'Acer X123V51Z' which doesn't tell you a thing about the notebook.

Can someone please confirm that this really has USB3 input? It only says USB2 under the specs.
I called them about the same thing and the salesperson assured me that there is indeed a USB 3.0 port. He went and checked.
