Toshiba Satellite P750 $695 with Harmon Kardon Speakers, GT540M 750GB Hybrid HDD, TV Tuner Today Only @ DSE

250

Very nice deal for $695 considering it has USB 3.0, a very capable GT540M, 750GB HDD, Bluetooth AND not to mention the excellent Harmon Kardon speakers which (IMO) is the best speakers in any notebook in this price range. Another great thing about this notebook is the fact it can be upgraded to a backlit keyboard for only $30 (sold seperatly through Toshiba) unlike the newer DV6's which does not have this option at all.

Description:
The Satellite P750 is a high performance entertainment system and powerful productivity tool.

It has all the features you need for a high-end home entertainment system, including a TV tuner, 3D output for video and games, enhanced sound and video, and a full suite of connectors and integrators.

It is also very fast, thanks to Intel's second Generation Core i5 processor, the new Toshiba Hybrid Hard Disk Drive for quick file access, and USB 3.0 for high speed data transfer.

Battery life is extended by Toshiba's Zero Power optical disc drive app, and NVIDIA's Optimus technology.

It's the ideal crossover notebook for the home-based professional or consultant.

        ? Processor Intel Core i5

no details on what model, nor does it have the processor speed
but by googling the Laptop, you can find the specs

        • -2

The processor specs are clearly listed.

        • +1

          Oh true
It just doesn't mention the model of it

  • That's a decent price for a laptop with those hardware specs and features. As noted, about the only thing you could say it's missing is eSATA, but then the USB 3.0 makes up for that.

  • Is the backlit keyboard installation fairly straight forward?

    • +6

      Yes.

Simply remove the battery, back plate (which is held with 4 screws) and unscrew the additional 3 screws securing the keyboard, flip the notebook over, disconnect the ribbon cable, swap the keyboard with the backlit, flip the notebook over to it's base, re-screw the 3 keyboard screws, re-screw the small base plate, pop the battery back in and you're done.

      • and where can you get the backlit keyboard? i cant find it on the toshiba website

      • already fairly complex for me… >_<

      • Sounds excellent. But just to clarify: DIY of this voids warranty or not?

  • all out of stock in wa from what i can see :(

    • Checkout the link in the description at Officeworks or head instore.

  • haha, ozbargainers looted the officeworks stocks too :(

    • +1

I got mine from DSE. Done a online Pickup and pay, was pretty easy.

      • Great! Please post a review of it.

Is there any flex on the lid when you press down it? What are your overall thoughts of the notebook?

        Thanks!

    • +5

      No you don't.

You need to be running the 64bit in order to utilise 4GB+ of RAM which of course is included.

      • true dat

  • hmm I just bought an ASUS bamboo last week…this is very tempting….might get another laptop tomorrow…then I'll think about what to do with them later…haha

    • Unfortunately the deal will end soon considering the dick smith deal is only for this weekend.

  • Can you find better online? I'm looking for a really good one to use as a gaming laptop.
