Been looking for a new bin. Everything seems to be so overpriced - found this one for $50 and used my $500 kogan credit I got from signing up to the kogan credit card. Note that this is only for Kogan First Members and includes delivery, $99.99 for non members + delivery.

  • You’re flat out getting a good basic bin for $50. Pass

    • Is there a better deal elsewhere though?

I'm assuming this is a hands free bin, where else can you get one for $50 and this size???

Got any examples of good basic bins?

No I doubt it. Pretty hard to beat a hi tech bin for 50 nicka

  • Was about to buy and took a measurement - this thing is taller than my dining table! Would have looked ridiculous sitting in my kitchen lol

  • Thanks neilpatrickharris, just bought one, very good price for this size.

I have this but in stainless, paid about $70 and really happy with it.

    • May i ask where? Link if u got it pls.

      • I got it on Ebay during one of the 15% or 20% sales and the price didnt get jacked.

dog will be happy with it

  • For a daily use of around 20 times, the batteries need to be changed approximately every 6 months. To change the batteries, switch off the bin and change all 4 batteries at once and then repeat step 3.

Luckily, I've got heaps of Eneloops and since they're "low drain" they might even last longer than 6 months :)

    My dog would love this

  • To the people who have this or something similar, what do you do about recycling? I want this bin, but having two of these bins would be a bit much

    • I have one similar to this. I use it for general waste. For recycling rubbish, I place them in a big empty cardboard box

      • Yes that's exactly what i do, a large box under the island bench for recycling and this sensor bin for general rubbish at the end of the bench.

        • Yep. If I don't cover the general waste, there will be unpleasant smell and sometimes flies.
It's convenient to have automatic bin as during food prep, my hands get dirty and touching the lid would be clumsy.

      • Which bin liners do you buy? Looking at woolies, the Glad 80L one is the only one big enough but costs $0.27 per bag. Wanted to see if there's anything cheaper.

        • Try Reject shop

        • Try Aldi also

  • These auto opener bins are great when new but expect them to break after 3rd year. Had it happen to all of my bins. Maybe got a dud brand.

Over time they can get debris inside the mechanism. Also when the lid is raising or lowering if it hits your plate or hand stopping it that can take its toll on the plastic gears and tiny motor.

    • I got mine for about $40. So if it can survive 3 years, it's a bloody bargain XD

Does it come with Band 28, Wireless Charging, 5G and NFC?

And a barcode scanner, so when you toss something Alexa says "I see you threw out an empty milk bottle, so i've added milk to your shopping list". :)

  • No google assist no buy

  • So, can a pet walking by
    make open up, or what?

  • 78.5cm tall, you might want to measure your kitchen table height if you want to put under the kitchen table!

  • Bought 3! Showed at workplace everyone want it 😝
