Hi guys, just saw last night that Oakley is having a huge (larger than usual) selection of sunnies on sale. Many of them are actually 50% off which is awesome for Oakleys. Some of these sunnies are highly coveted in the cycling and sports world. If you're seeking your next iso cycling fix, but is new to the sport and feeling nervous, then pop on a pair of these sunnies and you'll be looking pro in no time.

Some examples:

Full range of sports sunnies on sale are here.

There are also a lot of lifestyle sunnies on sale too here.

I'm not sure when the sale ends so get in quick.

Enjoy!

P.S. I forgot to mention that these will ship from China (I know because I bought a pair of EVZeroes a month and half ago when that style was the only one on sale) via DHL. DHL is currently experiencing about 10 days delay due to Covid19, so all up it might take about 3 weeks to receive your package.

    50% Off Selected Oakley Sunglasses

Can these be worn in Clayton too?

    • +1

      If you're daring enough!

      • +4

        Thanks bro…

    • -3

Yes, but I think you should also get a face mask. That way you'll be fully protected even if people there don't care much about physical distancing!

    • Sorry I dont get this joke. Can anyone explain it for me please?

      • +7

Oakleigh is a suburb near to Clayton in Melbourne. Just a suburban play on words.

        • +1

Now we just need Clayton sunglasses, to be worn in Springvale

  • Is this just Mens?

Edit - nope, some womens too. Link defaults to men.

    What is Asia Fit?

    • +3

      specific for asian nose bridge.

      • +1

That is amazing. I am Asian and the sunnies you see at service stations do not fit me.

        • I have a flat Asian nose and bought a couple pairs of Asian fit Frogskins earlier in the year and they fit sooooo much better than regular sunnies.

Wasn't going to buy anymore sunnies after that but quite a few models of Asian fit are 50%… plus 6% cashback, i think gonna give in to temptation

    • Yep - though the same thing seeing Ray-Ban sale… apparently:

"Asian fit is a term used by the eyewear industry to describe sunglasses that are made for people with lower nose bridges and higher cheekbones."

    • +3

Apparently different races and genders have different shaped features. Who knew…

      • +2

Are you saying they look different? That's racist by today's standards.

        • -1

"Are you saying they look different? "
          Yes
          "That's racist by today's standards."
          You need better standards

        • +3

There are more discounted items with Asian fit. That's racist

          • @apm2011: They're not discounted because they are specifically Asian fit. As with most sales discounts, the reason is usually because they have too much stock.

Another good example is that I am currently looking to buy a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 and the 'Rose Blush' colour is always cheaper. It's not because they are sexist but because there is more stock.

    • whats australian fit?

  • Wow expensive especially when on special expensive.

    • +18

Ya better stick to your servo sunnies then.

      • -5

Oh I don't buy anything from Australia, only stupid people buy things where you live.

        • +3

          What a troll

  • +3

Plus another 5.6% off through Cash Rewards

    • +6

      6% on Shopback

      • that 0.4% is humongous

        • That's what she said

  • +1

    Musk get these

  • +1

The battle is real… I like the 'features' they offer but can I really wear something that looks like this..

  • +9

Oh boy I'm gonna deal so much speed.

  • Greate design, maybe bit too outstanding. Bought 2 pairs of sunglasses overtime in the past and consistently ended up not much usage. Then the usage became completely zero after started using transition lenses.

  • +7

Am I the only one who thinks the linked ones look comically bad?
They look like they fit on a kids action figure toy.

    • +2

They’re mainly worn for sporting purposes e.g cycling

I wouldn’t wear them outside of this.

    • +3

^ Exactly. They're mainly for sports uses and Flight Jacket is a pair of really useful cycling glasses. I linked this one in the title because it comes with Prizm Road lenses, which I think makes this pair the best deal. If the look is too much, there are also some EVZero's on sale for 50% off, and lots of lifestyle sunnies also. Personally I own a pair of EVZeroes and love the look, it will even come in handy in the snow (perhaps not this year, but maybe next). The Radar EV is also a great choice and the low light lenses are useful for cycling to stop dust and debris from going into your eyes, even if it's just a leisure activity for you.

    • +1

They're perfect for hosting house parties in QLD that you advertise on MySpace

  • site has way too many pop ups.

  • +1

Legend! I've been getting into running more over the last month or so and need some sunnies so I could save my G26 cricket lenses for cricket haha.

  • +4

They need to sell the "Oakley Thermonuclear Protection" stickers which, back in the late 80s/early 90s, would give you an additional 95kW of power if applied to the windscreen of your Nissan Pulsar or Toyota Corolla.

  • +1

I can't imagine spending $150 on sunglasses, let alone the full price. I'm sure they're better than my $30 ones, but they can't possibly be 10x better. Genuinely curious and not trying to be an arse: who buys these and why?

    • +4

Some technology. Coatings, UV protection, personal preference.

Yes of course, luxury item too, law of diminishing returns. Welcome to capitalism :)

Once you have good sunglasses you never want cheap ones.

    • +4

the same people who buy an LG LED TV versus those that buy Bauhn TV's from ALDI
the same people who buy an iPhone versus those that an Alcatel phone
the same people who buy Dairy Farmers Milk versus those that a generic brand milk
the same people who buy Nike versus those that buy their sport shoes from K-Mart
      ectera

      • +1

I guess I just can't really see or appreciate the difference between cheap and nice when it comes to sunnies, but I can for those products.
Again, I'm not saying those differences don't exist - just trying to understand them.

        • +1

          no worries

fwiw I don't skimp on sunnies. You only get 1 set of eyes, and for the moment it's the only organ/limb etc that can't be replaced (that and your brain). Once your eyesight is gone, it's gone, and decent sunnies at least prolong your eyesight (stop UV damge, etc)

So like helmets, I rather go for quality, reputation, safety, and the like, rather than just saving a few bucks cos I don't see the value in it (no pun intended)

    • +1

It's fashion, you can't apply logic to emotional decision making.
Oakley make good sunnies though, and have great lenses. Not worth $250 IMO, but I'll pick up a pair when half price.

    • +1

I can't think of anything more important to me than my eyes. Good sunnies usually last me 3 years so about $1 per week doesn't seem so extravagant.

      • +2

My $30 sunnies also last around that long and I'm not convinced they're any less healthy for my eyes.

        • +1

Sweet, with all that money you saved you can buy yourself a new toaster!

    • I have some Origianl Radar Path's that are 7 years old now. The G26 lenses they came with are peeling heavily near the nose bridge but the actual eye part is still fine. The frames are still basically in the same state as when I originally bought them too (bar the sweat obviously

    • +1

I alway break cheap sunnies, they last me about 3 weeks. BUT, I have never broke a pair of Oakles (only scratched them). So there must be something in it.

However, a LIFE CHANGING moment for me was when I realised you can easily plastic weld a pair of sunnies back together with a soldering iron!

So broken arm / frame etc, heat up, melt and need the plastic together like bread. Good to go.

    • +1

Apart from the looks and the price it can potentially carry, the lenses may make a large difference. Oakley lenses are very good and the difference is easily perceived if compared to cheap alternatives. Not 10x better but certainly in the 4x better range. It's a bit hard to equally compared since each lens got a different light transmission, but I can feel significant difference my Oakley, and the cheap specsavers. The diff between my Maui gin and Oakley are less perceptible but completely diff light passthrough.

  • Everyone can look like My Cousin Vlad.

    Alright……

  • Why are the flight jackets not recommended for driving/road use?

    • +2

Can throw your color and depth perception off, if I'm not mistaken

    • +1

Less so with the frame but more to do with the light transmission on the lens.
Similar to window tinting, where you generally need light transmission above 25%

      • Ahh I think you're right here. After looking at more of their lenses, they say that for many of them, even ones I have had forever which I use everyday.

  • Highly recommend the Prizm lenses it's like seeing real life in HD

  • I've pretty much only worn Oakleys my adult life, nothing else fits as good or looks as good thru the lens IMO. They are a PITA if you've got an LCD screen on your phone though, I hate using it in landscape mode just to see it.

    • Ya might wanna seek psych while ya at it just in case.

  • Hmmm if only there was something that was more fitting for the Cybertruck…..

  • +2

Just wanted to say thanks ZippyRoo this is an amazing post! Really appreciate all the details!!

  • +1

Few of these are unavailable now. The Flight Jacket linked in the post are out of stock. As are the Polarized version (which I picked up yesterday luckily).

Haven't checked very thoroughly so could still be a heap of others available.

  • Cheers good price for the sapphire iridium replacement lenses for EV Path, I've got a photocrhomatic and Prizm road lens but this could be good when they wear out, or on brighter sunny days.

Like everything OzB, don't really need it though :P

  • +2

Just spent $800. Damn you OzB

  • Have a pair of Holbrook oo9102's but the lenses have a few scratches due to being thrown in bags etc. Wouldnt mind a new pair but $204 for the oo9102-h055 with prizm lenses is still quite a few dollarydoos.

Has anyone tried replacement lenses? Or have suggestions for similarly shaped glasses from other brands?

  • +2

Initially planned on just getting the Flight Jacket's….Now I ended up buying 4 pairs of sunnies. Dammit! haha.

  • +1

With shipping - I ordered my flight jackets on the 12/05 and they arrived in Sydney today (14/05). Probably take a few more days before I get them, but that's pretty quick all things considered.

    • Ordered yesterday, arrive in Sydney today also.

    • I got mine today already! Things are slowly returning to normal. It's a really good feeling.

    • I ordered my Jawbreakers on 14/05 and they arrived in Melbourne today, 16/05. Seems to be a pretty consistent 2 day turnaround. They haven't arrived at my house yet, but hopefully they aren't far away.

  • ordered a pair of replacement lenses and just checked the tracking - its being shipped from DONGGUAN - CHINA

  • Pairs I ordered on the 12th and 13th arrived today. Have 2 more coming tomorrow I believe. Very quick.

The clear frogskins lite with violet iridium lenses say made in USA. Made in USA but sent to me from China, lol.

  • Thanks OP!
